Mom fired the arrow, it hit the target, dead center.

"Great shot, Tiff." My dad wrapped his arms around my mom's midsection.

"Apollo, I'm trying to practice!" My mom laughed.

I scrunched my nose. "Ewwwww!" I cried. Then I remembered the 2 year old asleep behind me. I spun around and saw she was still asleep. I let out a sigh of relief.

My dad let mom go and scooped me up in his arms. I squeeled with laughter as he swung me around.

My mom put her bow down and ran twords us. "I'll save you Celeste!" She said in a monotone.

I laughed as dad swung me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"No my beautiful daughter!" He ran twords the creek.

My sister Eliana woke up and we all froze. Mom ran over too her.

"Eliana, can you help me rescue your sister?" Upon seeing Eliana nodding they charged.

My dad takes off again and they follow. Eventually, he lets Eliana catch and free me. Then scooped up my baby sister up and ran.

My dad continued like this, switching who he picked up and picking mom up and running into the creek. I jump on his back and Eliana follows suit. Then we are all splashing and having fun.

When all of a sudden the sky rumbled, my mom paled and my dad sucked in a breath. My dad gave my mom a kiss that seemed to last forever. He wispered something in her ear and gave me and Eliana a big his kissed our heads and he disappeared.

At the time my 7 year old self couldn't understand what happened. But I did know that was the last happy moment we were all together.
