Keep smiling

I opened a bottle of wine as I sat on a bench in the park. This was already my second one and I started to feel a bit drunk - if I wasn't already. Kids stared at me and their parents pushed them forwards so they would go past me quickly. I probably looked like a mess though. My hair was messy, my mascara was stained across my cheeks.

After my dad had died I started drinking and I became depressed. Today was the first day in weeks that I had left my room and went outside. The first thing I did was going to the supermarket and buying the cheepest wine I could find. It was rather digusting unfortunately.

"(Y/n)?" I heard someone say but I didn't react. "(Y/n), are you okay?" It was (c/n).

"Yeah." I have liked him for some time now and this was the answer I gave him? One word. I also didn't even look at him.

As he seated himself next to me on the bench and looked at the bottle I held in my hand. "Give me that." He said as he grabbed the bottle and took a sip. "Disgusting."

"I know, right?" I said as I kept staring blankly in front of me.

I heard (c/n) sigh. "Come, let's go somewhere else. Maybe I can cheer you up a bit." (C/n) smiled at me with his ever so charming smile.

I wasn't even able to reject his offer since he pulled me with him almost immediately. We first went to a supermarket where he bought a bottle of water for me. While we walked further into the city I drank the water and started to sober up a bit. With the last bit of water I washed my face and with a tie which I had in my pocket I made a bun in my hair.

After about ten minutes we arrived in the shopping centre where a market was going on. We scanned the stalls but unlike me (c/n) did buy something. He handed the wrapped little package to me and when I opened it I saw it was a bracelett. I thanked him but also said he didn't have to do such a thing. He just shrugged it off.

In the middle of the market was a clown who did tricks and children were able to try some tricks too as there were objects laying on the ground for everyone to use. We watched it for a few minutes till (c/n) suddenly walked into the open space.

"(C/n), what are you doing?" I asked but he ignored my question.

He picked up three balls and started juggling.

I looked at him with a confused look. "Uhm... what are you doing?"

With his gaze freezed upon the balls he answered. "Just trying to make you laugh." He then looked at me for one second and said. "It clearly isn't working though."

Still juggling he walked toward the clown and said something to him. Without speaking the clown nodded and placed a wooden plank upon a ball. He then stepped to the back and gestured for (c/n) to come. (C/n) stepped on the plank with one foot - all the while still juggling of course. Then he quickly placed his other foot on the plank. I couldn't watch since I knew this would go wrong. I closed my eyes and ...

Bamm!

At first I heard a few people scream then I heard the croud bursting out in laughter. I opened my eyes and saw (c/n) laying on the ground with the balls all around him.

I felt the corner of my mouth wanting to go up and eventually I couldn't hold my laugh anymore. I bursted out in laughter and couldn't stop. (c/n) stood up and walked over to me.

Through my laughter I asked him if he were okay. "Are you... hahahah.. Are you okay? Hahaha."

With his hands he grabbed my face and looked me straight in the eye. I stopped laughing and smiled at him while staring in his beautiful eyes.

"Please, don't worry about me. I'm fine. I'm just glad to see you laughing again." He said and smiled at me. He drew his face closer to mine till our lips collided. I heard the croud cheering for us and I laughed again.

"Thank you, (c/n), for making me laugh again."
