The End of Life

The end of life,

Say your prayers,

Say your goodbyes.

It doesn't have to be,

A sad song,

But somehow,

It always ends up being one.

Heart beats fading,

Breaths growing shallower,

Eyesight dimming,

Spirit sinking.

And then it is finished,

The final curtain call,

One last bow,

You're gone,

Bang or not,

And now there's only air.
