a caged animal
she's trapped
locked up
god knows who's got the key
so she cries herself to sleep at night
and when she wakes up
she hits her head on the metal
to quiet the voices
birthed by the loneliness
gotta shut them up somehow
and when it's time for bed
she closes her eyes
and when
she wakes up
she does it
all over again
