[Aphmau's POV]
I'm patiently waiting for the bus to arrive at my bus stop with a few other kids. My tanned skin was the opposite of my comrades, who's skin is white. The white, icy, particles falling down on top of us complete the daily winter day of waiting for the bus.
The one girl's blue hair matched the season we were just beginning to come into. Today is the first snow of winter. The other girl's pink hair, which is usually curled, is straightened down and sad-like, how the girl's face is. Her pink bow is droopy as well. Winter is her least favorite season. The last girl's red hair matches about everything equipped on her strong, athletic like body.
And then there's me. My raven black hair that goes down to my belly button, neatly combed into a braid. My orange eyes sparkle in the dreary sunlight that is just poking out of the trees, and my tan skin completes it all. "When is the bus going to come?" The pink haired girl asked. These three individuals are my friends who live on my street. The red head shrugged. "It's usually not this late, maybe something happened to Garroth." Garroth is the assistant bus driver, who is filling in for our absent bus driver who recently had brain surgery. He is a few years older than us, and he is my best friend. We actually knew each other when we were kids.
The yellow bus squeaked around the corner and made it's way to our stop. It was empty, except for Garroth. We were the first who got on. The tires brought up some snow onto our faces, and I growled. My look was ruined for picture day. I shook off the remains of the snow before stepping on, Garroth with his friendly smile, as always.
"Hey there, Aphmau. How are you this morning?" I grumbled a hello and shrugged. "My look is ruined for picture day now." The snow was meting all over my body, and my clothes were drenched. Garroth studied me. "Oh. The snow from my tires. Sorry, Aph. Need a towel?" I shook my head and sat behind Garroth.
"Do you have your bus permission slip?" He asked me from up front. "Yeah, here. Sorry." I handed him the slip that was signed by our parents in order for us to ride the bus. He took it and smiled. "Thanks. You may sit now please." I went back to my seat where Kawaii~Chan was and she scooted to the window so I could go in. On our other side was Katelyn and Nicole.
The next stop was Dante, Travis, Laurence, Zane, Gene and Vylad. Two of which are Garroth's brothers. Zane is in 12th grade, and Vylad is in 10th grade. "Hey there baby brothers." Garroth cooed to them. Vylad smiled and hugged him and Zane just growled and sat in Kawaii~Chan and I's seat. Zane is my best friend and Kawaii~Chan's boyfriend. Travis and Dante managed to fit with their girlfriends, Nicole and Katelyn. Laurence sat behind us waiting for Lucinda, and Vylad sat behind Katelyn and the others waiting for Pika. Gene sat down waiting for Sasha and Zenix.
Poke and Caden got on next. They sat down together behind Vylad. Next came Lucinda, who happily sat with Laurence. Pika and Lord LULU came on next, and they scooched in next to Vylad. Next came Sasha and Zenix, who sat with Gene. The last few stops were people we didn't know, and Aaron, my ex. He growled at us and sat in the way back, with a few of his friends. Aaron is part of Gene's gang. He is the worst of the bunch, and the school delinquent.
We picked up a few more kids, and the bus was packed with people talking and laughing and swearing. "So, Zane, how was the season finale of MLP?" I quietly asked Zane. Kawaii~Chan and I all knew Zane's secret: he loves My Little Pony. He smiled under his mask. "It was amazing! I loved the part when---" "Silence behind me please, baby brother, no one wants to here about My Little Pony." Garroth said as he chuckled. Him and Vylad also knew. Zane growled. "I'll deal with you after school, Garroth." Garroth smiled, and I saw this because there was a mirror showing the bus driver and the bus.
We finally got to the school, and everyone flooded off the bus. I was the last to get off, and Garroth stopped me. "I need to talk to you Aph, is that okay?" I nodded. He probably wanted to ask me something about my permission slip, for my mom didn't want to sign it, I just signed it in her best handwriting. "Yeah, Garroth?" He looked at the ground in embarrassment. "We're friends, right?" I laughed. "Heck yeah, why would you ask that?" He looked down again. "Because.. I like you.."
My jaw dropped. "Really?! That's sweet of you! I like you as a friend too!" He shook his head. "No. I like like you." My jaw dropped again. "Y-you do?" He nodded. "Yes, so... would you like to go on a date with me, this Friday maybe?" He's three years older than me. "Sure! I kind of like like you too..." He smiled brightly. "Okay! See you, go ahead and get to school." I smiled and kissed him on the cheek and then went off the bus and caught up to Kawaii~Chan, Katelyn, and Nicole.
Best bus ride ever.
