Aphmau's POV
The bright cheerful sun smiled at me as I walked through the woods. The woods always brightened my day. When I needed some time alone, time to think, or just got very depressed or angry. The woods was like my home. The trees felt like they spoke to me, the animals stared at me, wondering if I was one of them. I would do anything to live in the woods, but sadly my parents want me to live an educational life in college becoming a technician.
I wanted to become a vet. My parents thought animals were ruining my education, and that is why I had rabbit for dinner last night. My parents forced me to eat Nip. I had him ever since I was 5, and he would live a lot longer with the good care he needed, but I never get an allowance, and my parents never help me with anything, so I had to do yardwork for the Romeave's, the family next door. He has dark black hair and dark blue eyes. Very cool.
They had three brothers. One is my best friend, Zane. He is an emo, but I still like to hang out with him. His favorite things and cupcakes and ponies. He absolutely loves the pony pinkycake, and that is what I got him for his 17th birthday. I am 18.
Then there is Vylad. I don't really know him, but I know he loves meditating and talking about his feelings. He dreams of becoming a therapist when he is older, and I respect that. He has brown hair and light green eyes. Since he is so opened up, he gets all the girls.
The other one is Garroth, my crush ever since I met him 5 years ago when they moved here. He is one year older than me, and acts all shy and sweet all the time. He stutters when I am around him and he blushes. He is honestly the cutest boy I've ever met, and sometimes I dream of getting with him. It's weird, I know. He has the lightest blonde hair you've ever seen, and sky blue eyes that you could get lost in if you tried.
And he is here, right now, walking side by side with me. No words, but we talk with our hands. We are pretty great friends, and we made up a secret code. When he puts up his ring finger and pinkie, that means he actually wants to talk to me. And that's what he just did.
"Yeah, Garroth?" I said. My voice sounded hoarse, because the last time I drank water was when I left the house this morning. "We need to talk." "Well, I get that. You gave me the sign." I imitated what he did and he nodded and quietly chuckled to himself, which sounded like a man with a deep voice humming. It was so peaceful.
"Have you ever loved this person so much, but you can't tell them how you feel because you are really shy?" I stopped in my tracks. Garroth loved somebody? If I lose Garroth, all I have left is Zane. I decided to lie to him to make him not like the girl he is in love with.
"Honestly Garroth, people are very cruel sometimes. I wouldn't even bother talking to the girl you like because they would reject you immediately, mark my words." Garroth stared at me and looked away, his eyes clouded with sorrow. I know I lied to him, but I don't want him to ask someone that isn't me.
Garroth and I continued walking in silent, until he put up his thumb, which meant something along these lines: Aphmau, lets go to my house. Or, Aphmau let's go to your house. I nodded and followed him, past my favorite tree, past the birds nest with baby birds in it, and past the clubhouse Zane, Garroth, and I made.
We finally arrived to his house, and he opened the door for me. I swiftly walked in, because of knowing the surroundings of his house, and how Garroth was, I knew right where he wanted to take me. His bedroom. I headed towards the bedroom and I heard Garroth's sweet voice. "No, to the basement." The basement? I never went in there before... I reluctantly nodded and followed him towards a door that looked like no one ever opened in years.
Garroth wiped some dust off the handle and rubbed it on his shorts before opening it. The door made a squeaking noise as he opened it, and then finally opened, revealing a spiral staircase that looked like it lead to the bottom of the world, it was so long. Garroth went first, and I followed after him. As we reached the bottom, I saw gorgeous ribbon on the wall, of purple and white, my favorite colors.
He lead me to a table and handed me an envelope. I opened it and started to read it.
Dear ______(Aphmau)
I know I will give this to someone someday, and I just wanted to write it before I knew who I wanted to give it too. I am 12 at the moment, and I am writing this for my future crush. I know they might not respond as I would hope, but you always have to expect the best, right?
Anyways, whoever you are, I probably was friends with you for a few years by now, and fell for you. So here are the words. Dear whoever: I love you. I love you with all my heart. And I hope you think the same.
I was speechless. He leaned over and kissed me, and that was that. He loved me. I loved him. We were together for that moment. I kissed him back, and he took it by surprise, shrugged it off and leaned in closer.
Three months later, we were together now, and we are the best of friends and girlfriend and boyfriend.
And it was all because of a twelve year old Garroth.
Hope you guys like!
