**Alex's POV**

My vision blurs after the beer bottle hits my head. I collapse in pain and the world spins as I hit the ground.

This whole thing happened when I didn't agree to go on a date with him. I said no because I wasn't ready to move on from Dallas yet. And even if I was, it definitely wouldn't be with him.

Out of nowhere, a dark shadow runs over and shoves something towards the greaser's stomach. Then it grabs Aliyah and holds her lovingly.

"Don't you dare hurt my girls!" it screams at the dead looking greaser on the ground beside me.

After that, my vision gets spotty. I black out from time to time as my head adjusts to the hits it took.

The figure - who I couldn't have identified for a million dollars - looked down at me.

"I'm going to bring her home, then come get you. Don't try and get up," it orders. I just lay there and watch the figure take off faster than light.

My head hurts terribly, and when I touch it, blood stains my fingers. I shudder and try to regain full sight.

When the figure returns, it takes me into its arms, but before taking off to wherever it plans on going, it hugs me tight. I have no energy to hug back and lay limply in its arms.

All at once, it takes off. I look up at it and notice dark brown hair. A smell that reminds me of something comes off of the person. I try and remember what it is until we reach wherever the figure was planning on going.

"I need help now!" it yells. I recognize the voice. It sounds like.....

No, it couldn't be.

Lots of people rush around me, and I'm set onto something soft.

"What's your name, son?" someone asks.

"D_____ Wi____n," is all I can register.

"Let's get her in!" someone else says. The boy who brought me here kisses my forehead before leaving.

It's after he's left that I figure out who he was, and it's too late for me to do anything about it.

**Kayla's POV**

I was laying against Soda when someone knocked on the door. Soda graciously stood up and answered.

"Oh my god!" is all he says. I sit up and everyone watches as he carries Aliyah back inside.

"It was just her, nothing else," Soda says, holding Aliyah. She begins to cry.

"Wait, where's Alex?" Ponyboy asks.

"I don't know," Soda says. "Aliyah was the only thing at the door."

"So what does that mean?" Two-Bit asks.

"That she was the only thing there," Soda repeats.

"Yes, smartass, I get that," Two-Bit says. "I meant, what could have happened so that only Aliyah ended up on the doorstep?"

The phone rings in the kitchen. Everyone stays silent as Darry stands to get it.

"Hello?" he asks. He pauses as the other person talks.

"You guys don't think she left the poor kid, do you?" Johnny asks.

"There's no way she'd do that," Bailey says.

"Thank you very much, we'll be right over," Darry says and hangs up the phone.

"What was that about?" Soda asks.

"We've got to get down to the hospital, that's where Alex is," Darry says.

The house immediately erupts. People begin talking at once and it really starts to stress me out.

"Stop!" Darry yells. We all freeze.

"We have to stay calm, they said it was nothing to worry about and that she's fine. Let's get our coats and get going."

As a group, we run around to grab coats and climb into the two cars we have at the house - Darry, Lauren, Ponyboy, Jess, and Victoria in one and Soda, myself, Aliyah, Johnny, Two-Bit, and Bailey in the other.

We arrive faster than I thought we would. We gather around the front desk after everyone storms the waiting room. Boy, if people were sleeping, there's no way they were anymore.

"Alex Matthews, please," Darry says.

The lady nods, types something in, then looks back at all of us.

"She is currently resting, and suffered some head trauma and a concussion. Which ones of you are her family?"

Two-Bit raises his hand and I raise mine for Aliyah.

"Oh, and how'd she get in here?" I ask.

The lady does some more typing and looks at her computer.

"It says she was brought in by Dallas Winston at 9:34 pm tonight."

The gang grows dead silent.
