Ambers POV
It's been a month since the apocalypse happened. I almost gave up hope every time I thought about my family dead. Deep down I knew they were zombies.

"Amber, you wanna go on the food run with me today?" Jack asked as he broke my thoughts.

"Sure." I told him.

We headed off, we drove for half an hour before he stopped the car. We were nowhere near the towns yet.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"What's wrong Amber?" Jack asked me.

"What are you talking about."

"You seem so down."

"Just thinking."

"About what?"

"Life."

Jack stared at me like I was crazy. I knew he wouldn't understand. He started up the car and drove off. We didn't say a word too each other for the ride.

We reached what was left of a Walmart and walked in. I headed right for the pop isle first. It's been so long since I had any.

Jack headed to the frozens. We took our separate ways and grabbed what was good.

"Amber, stop right there." Jack demanded.

"Why?" I asked him.

Jack walked up to me and hugged me tight. He whispered something into my ear.

"I know what your going through Amber, but I'm still here for you and will always be.'' Jack said looking in my eyes.

I squeezed him too. Jack looked at me and kissed my cheek. We started to walk out to the car and once we got in Jack looked me in the eyes.

"Amber?"

"Yes Jack."

"Can I tell you something."

"Anything."

"Your beautiful, amazing, talented, and unique, you deserve better than this."

I started to blush as I looked at him. Jack was the sweetest guy ever.

He leaned his head closer to mine and I leaned in to. We kissed. It was amazing.

"Wow." Jack said looking me in the eyes.

"That was amazing." I replied.

We got back when it was lunch. All the stuff was unloaded.

"How was it guys?" Beth asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked her.

"Any zombies." Sara said.

"Nope, none." Jack told them.

I could tell from the look in Taylor's face, Jack and I were acting suspicious.

"Jack, Amber, you guys get lunch ready Taylor, Sara, and Ethan will secure the gates, I'm gonna check on the crops." Beth ordered us.

Everyone left to do there jobs. Jack and I started on our job. We were making some homemade bread.

Jack looked up from the stuff he was doing and looked at me. There was flour all over our hands. Jack grabbed me on the back and pulled me close to him. I obeyed and we kissed.

There was flour all over our clothes and on our skin. There was a hand print on the back of my thy when Jack pulled me to him. He had hand prints on the front of his shirt and in his hair.

Everyone walked in when we were kissing. It was awkward seeing them there.

"Well well well, what do we have here." Sara teased.

"How much did you guys see!" I blurted out.

"We just came in." Beth said. "You two go get cleaned up.'

We washed up just like Beth told us. When we came into the kitchen they finished making the bread and had plates set up.

I looked across the table to see Sara looking at me. She was snickering at me. I started to laugh.

"Amber, what's so funny?" Jack asked.

"It's Sara." I said laughing.

Everyone looked over at Sara who then was also laughing. They stared at us like we were crazy.

We all got ready for bed. I watched Sara and Taylor sneak into her room together. I walked to Jacks room. He was already coming out when I was right at the door.

"Holy hell!" Jack screamed.

"You think I scared you, you scared me!" I laughed.

We were about to go to his room before we heard a noise. There were zombies that somehow managed to break through the fence and into my room.
