Chapter Fifteen

I hung up the phone and fell back onto my bed. 'Just two more weeks and I can see Emily again' I told myself. If I can last that long. Rachel, and the other girls, seemed pretty persistant to get me in their pants. Well sorry that I'm not a man whore. I took an a big sigh.

"What was that for?"

I shot up to see Belle standing in the doorway.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't know you were there."

"You really miss her, huh?"

I realised that I probably said that outloud.

"Oh, yeah."

"She's lucky."

"Took a while though. She didn't really notice me when we were in the same year group and then when she got moved up a year there was no chance."

"But she still got you in the end."

"More like I got her."

Belle nodded then looked at her shoes.

"Look, I'm sorry if it upsets you, but I really like Emily and she likes me, and I'm not about to ruin it. It took me a long time to finally get her to notice me and that just makes it more special that it's finally happening. I hope you understand."

Belle nodded again, still looking at her shoes. "I'll go."

"Wait... before you do." I got up and shuffled over to her still wrapped in the blankets.

Belle looked up hopefully then jumped back a bit at me standing in front of her. "Yes?"

"Did you... ummm... did you freeze me?"

She looked shocked and a little hurt. "No! Of course not! I would never do that!"

"Oh." I said looking down.

"Why? Do you think someone did?"

"Well, how else was I meant to lose my heat and then pass out?"

"Hmmm. I guess."

"Anyway, don't beat yourself up about me and Emily. I still like you."

She looked back at me a little shocked and hopeful. "Really?"

"Yeah, as a friend."

The hope left her eyes and she looked back down. I lent down and kissed her cheek. She touched the spot softly with her hand then looked back up at me shocked.

"I do care about you. Can you stop hurting yourself?"

She straightened up and hid her wrist.

"Don't worry, I won't think less of you. Just promise you won't do it anymore, okay?"

She nodded and looked down again. I hugged her which caused her to straighten up again but after a while she hugged back with shakey arms.

"Okay." She whispered.

I walked her to the door and gave her a small wave.

"See you next term." I smiled. She returned the smile and left.

School back on the mainland starts soon so everyone from the Academy is going back home. I'm so excited! I can't wait to see Emily again! Maybe we could go on a picnic... Or see a movie... I don't know but we are going on a date and that's final!

I also want to tell Olly about the Academy. I can't believe that he has a power too!.. Though, we are opposites... He's water and I'm fire... But oh well. I mean, it's not like anything will happen.

The limo drove up to the side of my house.

"Thanks Alfred." I patted Alfred on the shoulder and got out of the car.

I was very please that Alfred managed to get me away from the Academy before Rachel could notice I was gone. (I left two weeks earlier than the rest of the students.)

I stepped into the house like it was uknown territory, carfully moving with each step.

"Hello? Mum? Dad?"

"ASHLEY DARLING!!!!!!!" They ran down stairs with their arms wide open, ready to wrap me in a large hug.

"He-llo." I managed to breath out whilest being crushed in my parents' bear hug.

"How was the Academy?" Mum smiled.

"Bloody expensive." My dad replied before i could.

"Tony." My mum hit my dad playfully. "It's okay sweetie. If it's for you, we'll pay any sum of money."

"But you can't afford a haircut." I think to myself, causing me to actually laugh out loud.

"What's the matter?" My mum leans down.

"Oh, nothing." I smile and walk up the stairs.

"ASH!!!!" Sarah swings out of her room and wrapps me in a tight hug, not as tight as the one I just recieved, but tight enough that it was still hard to breathe.

"Hi Sarah."

"How was it?"

"Okay."

"Uh huh... Can you do any fire tricks now?"

"What?"

"For the uh..." Sarah leant in closer to me, "The guy." She whispered.

"Oh yeah...... Sorry but... nope."

"What?!!!"

"I don't know how to control it."

"But Aaaaaaaaaash! You promissssssssed" Sarah whined.

"I know, I know. I will. But only when I have control."

"Gah! Come on!!!" Sarah stomped back into her room and slammed the door. I chuckled to myself slightly and went into mine.

I picked up my guitar and tried to remember the song I was composing. "Damnit! I've forgotten." I put the guitar down and fell back onto my bed. It's been ages since I've slept in my bed. The one at the Academy was comfortable and all, but this one just... Felt like home.

As the my bedroom got darker from the afternoon, my mind began to wander. I thought about what the principle of the school had told me before I left.

~Flashback~

"It's a shame that you're leaving early, Ash."

"Oh..."

"Just remember, you are not to use your powers outside of this school. They are unlike anything we've ever seen so we can't teach you how to control them properly so there is a BIG chance that you'll lose control."

I nodded to show him that I understood.

"You're a good kid, Ash. We wouldn't want anything to happen, and be on your hands."

I nodded again, letting the thoughts of that possibility to run through my head. It made me a little nervous that I could possibly lose control of my powers, especially when they are fire powers, I could potentially kill some one.

"But, that's most likely not to happen. Just as long as you don't use them."

"Okay."

"Good, good. Right, let's get you home."
