1: Welcome

5 missed calls from 'Jughead'.

"Where are you?" Veronica calls, clearly worried.
"I'm leaving town for a bit." Betty sighs.
"Because of Jughead?!" Veronica still sounds worried.
"Look, I just need a break. Everything is just to much at the moment, and I only know one person who can make me feel better."

Betty was referring to Elena Gilbert. Elena had come for visits to Riverdale with her family as a kid, to visit the Coopers. Elena and Betty hadn't seen each other in years, but they had each other on snapchat and Instagram, so they were still close.

"Who even is Elena?" Veronica asks, still panicked.
"A friend." Betty says.
"Is there anything I can say to make you come home?" Veronica asks.
"No. What could you possibly say that would make me want to come back? I don't want to see anyone at the moment."
"What about Polly? And your Mum and Dad?"
"I left them a note, explaining everything."

"Don't do this. Come home, go to the spa with me and forget all about Jughead." Veronica insists.
"No. I'm going to Mystic falls so that I can reunite with Elena."

Betty takes a deep breath and hesitates to knock on the Gilbert's front door. The taxi had just left, so quickly. Maybe Elena didn't even want to see Betty at that moment, or maybe it would be really awkward between them. Maybe Betty should just go home, to Jughead and Veronica.

Suddenly the font door swings open and Jenna is standing at the door.
"Betty." She smiles.
"Hi Jenna."

It was a tiny bit awkward between Jenna and Betty, because they had never met in person.

"Elena's just upstairs. Possibly with her boyfriend." Jenna smirks.
"Matt?" Betty tries to recall the name of Elena's boyfriend.
"No, Stefan." Jenna squints.
"I haven't heard about a Stefan yet." Betty blushes.
"Oh well, Matt and Elena broke up after the...accident." Jenna frowns.

Elena and her parents were in a car accident. Sadly, her parents didn't make it, but luckily, she did.

"Oh." Betty also frowns.

"Elena?"
Instead of knocking, Betty quietly calls Elenas name from outside her bedroom door. The door swings open and Elena is standing there, with a huge smile.

"Elena!" Betty smiles.
"Betty!" Elena hugs Betty quickly and tightly.

"How are you?" Betty asks, after being released from the hug.
"I'm great, you?"
"I'm fine." Betty smiles.

"I can't believe you're actually here. I need to introduce you to my friends!" Elena insists.
"Jenna said you have a new boyfriend? What happened to Matt?"

Elenas smile drops.
"It wasn't really working. I didn't know what I wanted and he kept talking about the future, as if we had one. I feel like we were two really good friends who thought we like, had to date, or it just wouldn't make sense. I don't know if that makes sense but...that's how I felt."
"It makes a bit of sense." Betty tries.

"But now I'm dating this guy, Stefan, who's really incredible. He makes me so happy and I actually see a future with him." Elena smiles once again.
"Well that's good."

"What about you? Anyone special in your life?" Elena asks.
"Jughead." Betty sighs.
Elena laughs, "Jughead?"
"Hey, don't hate on his name." Betty smiles.
"Sorry." Elena smiles too.

"Ok. Do you want to unpack or...?" Elena starts.
"No, it's fine. Let's just go see your friends."
Elena squeals.
