It's So Good To See You

The war was won. We finally defeated the Galra empire. We could go home.

"Alright team! We're going back to Earth. Before we all go separate ways, we're going to visit places each of us want to go. Pidge? You first," Shiro told us.

"I want to go to one of those escape rooms! It doesn't matter where."

"Keith?"

"I want to do paintball."

"Okay. Hunk?"

"A fancy restaurant in France!"

"And I want to go to a cafe in New York. Okay team, we'll be back home soon.

They didn't even bother asking me.

We walked into the cafe Shiro wanted to go to. We've been together non-stop and I haven't had a chance to take off my binder. Coran is the only one who knows but he's kept my secret for so long and I'm grateful for that. It's already been so long and it's hurting my ribs and chest. Oh well. We sat down and the waitress came to take our orders. I looked down at the table while the others ordered.

"And for you?"

I looked up and mumbled that I just wanted an iced tea.

The others were happily chatting away about old memories and stuff. I got up to go to the bathroom. They didn't even notice.

I started walking but stopped when I heard a very familiar name.

"Lana?!"

I froze and looked at the person who spoke. She had light brown hair and freckles across her face. She ran over and hugged me tight. By now, a few other people where watching.

I hugged her back. "Lucy, oh my god."

"I'm so sorry I left! You know I couldn't stay around mom and dad. They're just too conservative. I'm so sorry I left you there, Lana."

"Actually it's Lance now," I told my twin sister.

"Holy shit! Did you tell mom and dad?"

"Yeah, they weren't too happy but they didn't want to lose another kid so they dealed with it. They couldn't stand not being the picture perfect family."

"I'm so proud of you! It's takes a lot of guts to be who you are."

"I've missed you so much. Are you still with Rosie?"

She smirked and held up her hand, a ring on her finger.

"Oh no! I missed the wedding!" I said as I grabbed her hand to look at the ring.

"Don't worry about it," she laughed.

A hand rested on my shoulder. I jumped and pulled away. Keith and the team stood there, annoyed.

"Really Lance? Flirting with more girls?" Pidge asked.

"Girls? But sh-uh he's not-"

"Um! Guys meet my sister, Lucy!" I said, interrupting Lucy. I glared and slightly shook my head at her. A look if understanding came over her face. The rest of the team didn't know I liked guys.

"Hey! Nice to meet you!" Hunk.

"You have a twin?" Keith.

"Oh no, there's two Lances now." Pidge.

"What were you guys talking about earlier?" Allura.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." Coran.

"Why did she call you Lana?" Shiro.

I winced at the last question. I looked at Lucy, terrified.

"Well the cats out of the bag now. I'm trans. Lana was my old name."

"You're a girl?"

"Pidge no! He's a boy!" Keith scolded Pidge.

"We all accept you Lance," Shiro said with a smile.

Tears came to my eyes. I finally have a family who loves and accepts me for who I am.
