benny/nina

it was game day- the sixth game of the 2009 world series. benny was sitting on the couch, intently watching his yankees play. he was decked out in baseball gear.

nina was cooking food for the week in the kitchen. she did this every sunday so they could heat it up during the week and spend more time together. benny was yelling and cheering loudly at about every play. nina chuckled at his antics.

once a commercial started to play benny paused the television and went to check on his wife.

"how's it going in there?" she asked him.

"we're up 7-3 just after the 7th inning. i really think we might clinch this one!" benny exclaimed. "knock on wood though."

"call me in for the last inning," nina said as he walked out into the living area. he gave her a thumbs up.

eventually, it was the last inning. nina and benny sat in the couch biting their nails. it would be really hard for the phillies to come back from this. if the yankees won they would win the whole world series, so it was a big deal.

the yankees finally got the phillies out for the third time.

benny started jumping up and down cheering. nina ran out to the fire escape where you could practically hear everyone screaming with glee at yankee stadium on 161st street.

their team had won!
