everyone!

"¡diez minutos!" camila shouted over the noise.

it seemed as though the entire barrio was crammed in the living area of camila and kevin's apartment. it had been quite a year for them all. and not only this year, but all of them.

the kids were in college now- sebastian a senior and claudia and isabel were freshman.

usnavi was successfully running his bodega franchise while still being a family man.

vanessa had an amazing salon in the nicer part of town that was bringing in enough to help send two kids to college.

benny's dispatch was the best in washington heights.

nina was teaching middle schoolers to love themselves and achieve great success.

sonny helped usnavi by running one of his shops and has been married to pete for just over ten years.

pete was an artist just like he always dreamed.

daniela decided to become a social worker and loved being a motherly figure to so many children.

carla was married to dani and worked in the salon with vanessa.

kevin and camila hosted sunday dinners for anyone who wanted to come visit.

abuela claudia was always in their hearts wherever they were.

maybe not by blood, but these people were a family and they loved each other through thick and thin. now it was time to ring in the new year.

everyone crowded around the television and watched the ball slowly drop while chanting the countdown, "3, 2, 1! happy new year!"

hugs and midnight kisses were exchanged as everyone celebrated a new start to a new year. a year where anything could happen and everything could change. a year where they could win or lose $96,000. a year full of promise and opportunity.

although that didn't matter as long as el barrio was together.
