They didn't know how long Logan had been like that. It was obvious that he was thinking from a quick glance but the expression on his face was strange. They all thought he was fine. It wasn't until Patton attempted a joke using 'Infinitesimal' that they knew something was wrong. Logan didn't move, he didn't even look up from the notepad that he was quickly writing in to complain or moan to Morality.
Patton's smile disappeared. He gently shook Logan's shoulder, hoping to shake his friend out of his strange trance. "Lo? You okay?" Logan's head shot up at the familiar voice and he dropped the pen onto the floor. Watching the concerned faces that surrounded him with watery eyes, he slowly got up and shoved the notepad into his pocket. "Excuse me." He croaked as he made his way to he kitchen. Roman pulled Patton's shirt as the father began to stand. Roman shook his head and Pat sat back down again but as he spotted the notepad that had fallen from Logan's pocket, curiosity got a hold of Pat and he picked the pad up, flicking through. Random facts, Spanish phrases and helix doodles filled the pages. However, he paused at the last page. It was full of words, mostly crossed out but still readable. 'LOGIC' was written in full caps in the centre of a circle, next to the word 'feelings' (crossed out) and surrounded by lots of scribbled out emotions. Pat closed the notepad and, being his usual over-protective self, went into the kitchen to check up on the logical side.
Lo was stood with his face in his hands, his elbows resting on the countertop, breathing heavily. "Lo? Are you okay?" He shrugged his shoulders. "Logan, what is this?" Patton opened the notepad at the 'Logic' page and stood, holding it out. Logan turned his head slightly, lifting it from his hands to see what the father was talking about. He reached out and took the pad from Pat, looking at it closer. He then watched out of the corner of his eye as Pat came closer, sympathy and worry on his face. Lo contemplated telling the other what was troubling him, but eventually nodded his head and slowly began to speak, stopping every once in a while to check that the other was still listening.
"Feelings... are known to... cloud logic. As Thomas's logic, I shouldn't have feelings. But I do. So I must be something other than Logic. But that's the dilemma that I am currently facing. If I am not Thomas's logic, then... Who am I?" As Logan said the last three words, he turned to Patton. The other could see the fear on Logan's face. The father didn't answer, still awestruck by his friend's vulnerability. "I'm...sorry, Pat." Lo began to walk back to the living room but was stopped by an arm that shot out and pulled him into a tight hug."
"Logan Sanders, you are so much more than just Thomas's logic. You are his common sense, his way of keeping grounded, his perseverance, his brain, the feeling that gets him up in the morning, the thing that reminds him to plan and make a video. You are so much more than you think. You are his friend. You are our friend."
Pat let Logan go slightly so he could see the side's face, feeling him trembling in his arms. A tear ran down Logan's cheek as his eyes met Patton's. He let out a deep breath. "Thank you... Patton." He was pulled back into a hug, swiftly returning the action with relief.
