"Damage" by Fit for Rivals
Chapter Fifteen - Shape Shifting
Loki grabbed my hand firmly and a chill went down my spine. My skin felt like little pins were pricking it. Loki's eyes were set hard in concentration. He let go of my hand and I jumped out of the tree. All the enemy eyes were set fully on me, watching my every step with ignorance and threat. I kept my path straight heading up to the paler than pale man in the torn up suit. His eyes widened at me and a grin spread over his white face.
"Oh Son of Laufy. What do I owe this pleasure?" He smirked, crossing his bulky arms across his chest. He was a built man; more muscular than Thor.
"I'm a big fan," My voice was smooth and cocky, just like the Frost Giant himself. My long coat whooshed around behind me, making ever move slightly heavy. "I came to watch the show."
Revelation shook his head and turned back to the form in the clouds; the red and gold suit. The people who surrounded Central Park looked almost like smaller Frost Giants. Their eyes glowed red, and their skin was covered in bumps and ridges. But instead of blue, their skin was inky black and their narly nails curled under their hands. As soon as Iron Man came further into view, Revelation pointed to the figure and three of the creatures shot up into the sky, pulling down the metal suit. They tried to get there long thick nails into the metal, but they didn't succeed. The blue light in the centre of the chest flickered off and I took a few steps back, grinning.
"1... 2... 3..." I whispered and the suit exploded, chucking creature parts all over the park.
Revelation turned to me, his eyes glowing red in anger. "You knew this?" He boomed. I knitted my eyebrows together in confusion. My mouth opened in mock defence. "Your not Loki."
"No, but I am," Loki jumped down from the tree and turned me into my normal form. I took the gun out of its holder and put it against Revelation's skull. The real Iron Man flew over head and then landed beside us. The reactors on his hands started the fire up, pointing them at a few of the creatures. Loki pointed his sceptre at one of the creatures. Mum and dad jumped down from the tree and Steve stood strong behind us.
"Give up Revelation. You're surrounded." I smirked. Revelation rolled his hollow eyes, and raised his hand towards me. My neck felt tight, and air became short. My feet left the ground. He made his hand into a fist and I could no longer breathe.
Loki's P.O.V
I watched her suffer at the hands of his telekinetic powers. The few seconds he had her in is invisible grip, my heart broke. She struggled against his grip and his other hand kept the Avenger's frozen. But me. Ha, if he thought he could freeze a Frost Giant, he was wrong. I stayed as still as I could as the creatures circled us. I looked straight at Cyanide.
"I'm doing this for you," I whispered before spinning around, striking Revelation in the stomach. He fell to the ground in an inky puddle. I caught Cyanide in my arms and gently put her onto the grass below us.
One of the creatures stepped forwards and spoke. His voice sounded like bells. Even I couldn't understand the tongue he was talking in. Cyanide sat up and looked at the creature, attitude oozing out of her.
"Then how do we? Huh? You followed that jerk all your life, how can I trust you?" She spoke back. The creature spoke back, rubbing the back of his head. The creature looked at me and so did Cyanide. "Okay. I'll give it a shot. But if it doesn't work, consider this your funeral." The creature nodded and took a step back.
"How did you understand that?" I asked her in shock and admiration.
"I don't know, and I have a feeling I don't want to know." She replied, sighing. "Give me that septor."
I passed it to her. "It only works for me though! The sceptor doesn't work for anyone else." I told her, confused.
"I have a feeling I'm not a mortal." Cyanide mumbled taking the sceptor in her hand and aiming it at Steve Rogers. "Please work.... Please,"
She closed her eyes as she shot him with the tesseract energy. I watched Steve as he became unfrozen, he shook himself off and jumped back away from the point of the sceptor. The tesseract beam shot every Avenger, unfreezing them. Cyanide threw down the sceptor and fell to the ground exhausted. It took her energy. She was knelt on the ground, struggling to breathe. Bruce ran over to her, wrapping his arms around her. I just stood and watched them together.
Everything around me felt fuzzy. She should be with me. I didn't understand why I felt that way, but that was how it was. She should be mine. Not Bruce's. I turned around and walked away. I couldn't stand the sight of her and Bruce together any longer. The creatures stayed with the group and I just walked alone. I felt a hand on my shoulder as I came to the edge of Central Park.
"Are you okay, brother?" Thor asked. I just shrugged him off. "Loki, do not act like a child."
"She shouldn't be with him!" I yelled , pointed towards the Avengers.
"No offence Loki, but you haven't proved yourself for her. You tried to marry her for power, you almost killed Bruce!" He replied, looking me straight in the eyes. "You haven't exactly porved to be a possible 'boyfriend'!"
I shook my head. "I feel it, Thor. I feel it in my bones."
Thor shook his head and looked down at the ground. "Come back. Come back to Stark Tower."
"If a man who steals can't change his ways, how can I?" I asked him, frustrated in myself.
"You can change, Loki. You have changed." He reasured me. "There is good in your heart brother."
