Chapter Sixteen - Who Am I?

"Come on Thor, cheer up," I heard from along the hall. I kept walking down, slowly; still weak from the sceptre. A woman came out of Thor's bedroom. Her brown hair was pulled back and her face looked hurt and upset. She looked up from the ground at me and smiled. I kept walking towards her.

"Jane?" I smiled. She nodded. "Is everything okay?"

"No. It's the anniversary of Thor's Mother's death." She sighed. "He's not even listening to me."

Loki came striding down the hall, earning daggers from Jane. He was wearing a pair of black jeans and a green t-shirt; mortal's clothes. He smirked when he saw me, completely ignoring Jane.

"Cece, can I speak with you?" He mumbled in my ear. I nodded.  He led me away from Jane and Thor's bedroom door. "You are not from here. You are from another realm. Not Midguard."

"And how do you know this? Loki, you have only proved once that I could maybe possibly trust you." I replied folding my arms over my chest.

"I only have mother's tricks because she taught me. You have them in your blood. Tesseract energy works with you. You were drained because you are not used to it. And I heard Barton and Romanov discussing it." He told me, rolling his bright green eyes. I didn't know what to say. Anger boiled in my blood. "Fine, Cyanide. Don't trust me. But trust my rage."

He walked away without another word. I stood there facing the wall. No, I needed to prove it myself. I stormed down the beige hallways and pushed through the door to my parents living room. The floor was oak and the walls were a deep red. Mum and dad sat on one of the oversized black sofas in deep conversation.

"Something you wanna tell me?" I asked, standing just across from them.

"We hoped you would never find out," Mum whimpered.

"What? That I'm Asguardian?" I yelled.

"Yeh, that. Look, I can explain!" Mum stood up.

"Please do,"

"Me and Clint had been trying for about a year. Yet, I couldn't get pregnant. You're true mother, queen of Asguard, fell pregnant with you. With all the drama with Loki and Thor, she gave you to us. She felt sorry for us." She explained, pacing back and forth. I shook my head and ran to Bruce's lab.

Tears were pouring down my face by the time I got there. I didn't even need to say anything, Bruce wrapped his arms around me, holding me up when my knees gave in. And no doubt, he knew. He had my blood sample. I gripped onto his shirt like it was my lifeline.

"They... They lied to me," I whimpered.

"I know, I know," He shushed me.

I stood up and dried my eyes. I needed to go see Thor. Bruce saw that look in my eye. A look that meant I needed to do something. He grabbed my hand and we walked down the halls again. Jane was still outside Thor's room, looking stressed and tired.

"I'm gonna try and get him to let it go. Keep the door open. I may get killed for what I'm about to do." I told Jane and Bruce. They both nodded and I let myself into Thor's room.

He looked up at me with bloodshot eyes. His face held no emotion, no life, and his hair was bedraggled. His bed sheets were strewn on the floor. His hammer was in his hand, his knuckles going white. He closed his eyes and sighed. "I don't want to talk."

I took a deep breath in and changed my form. I did have my true mothers tricks. Thor looked up again, his face pale like a ghost. His breaths were jagged. I looked down at the blue dress I was wearing and the wrinkles on my hands.

"Come on, Thor, yell at me. Tell me leaving wasn't fair," I commanded him. My voice was rich and stern.

"Cyanide, this isn't funny. Please just... go," Thor whispered. "Please stop looking like my mother."

"Let me go, son," I smiled at him trying to get through to him but he just shook his head. I changed back and sat on the edge of his bed. "I know your mother was a strong woman. She wouldn't want you acting like this over her. Our mother wouldn't want to see you like this."

"Our mother?" Thor looked me in the eye.

"Come talk to me when you're feeling better." I walked out, feeling his eyes on me every step of the way. "He's all yours, Jane." I walked past her and Bruce followed me.

He grabbed hold of my hand, helping bear through a rather bizarre day. Bruce pulled me close and kissed my forehead. We took a left into the games room and we slumped down into the sofa. I wanted to sleep. Bruce lifted my face to face him with his finger. He put his forehead against mine and planted a soft kiss on my lips.

"It doesn't bother you I'm not mortal?" I asked gently.

"I love you," He told me. I was not scared anymore. I believed him. And I loved him too. He twisted my hair between my fingers as I curled up beside him. He put his arm around my waist.

Loki P.O.V

I watched them cuddle on the couch, jealousy in my bones. We had the same tricks, more reasons why it should be me and Cyanide and not Bruce. She and I were similar. But what boiled my blood is that she shared the same blood and Thor; as Odin.

I walked off back to my new room, my head ringing with plans to get her in my arms. Bruce was a monster; a beast. Her red curls and bright eyes stuck in my head.

I wanted to scream. Thor was right. I didn't deserve her. I had proved to be everything that she wouldn't want. I wanted the rip up my pillows and tear down the walls. Anger was too prominent; prominent in myself. I was angry with who I was. But I had to do something. Anything.
