Riley:

I went to school today, not because I wanted to. If I had it my way I would skip education altogether and try and snag a job at some mechanic garage place. Put my knowledge to good use. No, I went to school because if I didn't I would get my arse beat by Rick and I still hadn't recovered from yesterday's almost-burning-off-my- ear incident.

I woke up this something with a killer neck, I had fallen asleep against Rick's bed- big mistake!. I scurried out of their as soon as I could. Neither of us mentioned yesterday and we ignored each other, so overall it was quite a peaceful morning. Maybe it was his way of saying thank you.

I walked in through the doors and was instantly hit by the familiar smell of sweaty teens and strong cheap floor polish. I scrunched up my nose in disgust, flipped on my jacket and pulled down my beanie hoping to avoid any eye contact. Today I was going to lay low and go to class. That was all I had to do. If I could do that, I could graduate, and then I would be out of here forever.

"Could Riley Stone please report to the principal's office Immediately. That's Riley Stone to the principal's office immediately please, Thank you." The loudspeaker announced. My name echoed through the halls and I stopped short.

I groaned, so much for laying low.

I trudged down the hallway following the signs above the hallway pointing to the office.

"Now Miss Stone, I know you are new here but I need you to co-operate with me." The principle exclaimed, spit flying everywhere he turned. I tried not to squirm in my seat. His whole presence made me uncomfortable. His pudgy face bulged and his neck remained to be seen. HIs eyes alarmingly wide and his breath stunk of smoke and coffee.

I nodded quickly trying not to breathe in. I was on the verge of fainting.

"Yes sir, I'm sorry for skipping yesterday, I promise it won't happen again," I said quickly in one breath, refusing to breathe in. What was it with this school and unwelcoming stenches? Were all school's like this?

"Good, good now I have assigned you a buddy to help you around the school. They were absent yesterday so they were unable to attend to you on your first day."

I shook my head as I thought of yesterday. I'd rather not think about it.

"It's fine sir, can I leave now?" I asked desperately.

"Of course, of course, I will have your buddy pick you up from your first class and so on from there." He said motioning me to head out.

I thanked him and practically ran out of the room eager to get away from the uncomfortable environment. I had never been in a principal's office as I had never gone to high school before. I guess it was as bad as the movies say they are.

My photography class wasn't nearly as bad as Business Studies. It was rather enjoyable. Of course, that's excluding the fact that Alex was also in my class. He certainly did not bother to try and hide the fact that he was happy to see me. Happy was an understatement.

Alex p.o.v:

My legs bounced faster and faster as I watched Riley walk into the classroom.

'Dude can you stop, you're giving me a migraine" Josh complained next to me.

"Soz mate, Ma made an extra batch of coffee this morning" forcing my leg to stop bouncing

He turned to me with a serious expression on his face.

"What?" I asked innocently, shooting quick glances towards Riley. She looked so beautiful today. Her shiny hair tucked underneath a green beanie.

"You did not just say "soz" dude. What are you? 12?" He said with disbelief.
