I woke up to the sound of laughing, I groaned and opened my eyes squinting under the sunlight that shone harshly through the bedroom window.
I looked up to see Alex staring at me with an amused expression on his face, he lay behind me his face propped up against his arm.
"Something funny Gomez?" I asked plumping my head back onto the pillow. I closed my eyes burying my face deeper into the soft cushion.
"Yeah your face," He said, poking me in the ribs playfully. I rolled my eyes if that was even possible with closed eyes.
"You're so witty Alex," I said, muffled through the pillow.
"Come on get up, Sasha's folks are going to be home soon and she left me in charge of getting you back home," He said shoving me gently.
I sat up slowly and rubbed my eyes, pulling my hair up into a bun. I looked at him and shook my head.
"I can get myself home, don't worry about it," I said looking amongst the blankets and pillows for my jacket and phone.
"It won't be any trouble, besides It would give us more time to talk." He said rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. I suppressed a small smile but couldn't help worrying that if I accepted he would meet Rick.
"Come, on let me take you home, I bet you don't have a ride back, " He said leaning against the sofa pulling on a hoodie. He ruffled his hair and pulled out his keys from his back pocket.
He raised an eyebrow expectantly and I sighed.
I guess I could just get him to stay in the car, then I could rush in and wait till he left before handling Rick. I hope to God Rick was sleeping, last night was poker night so he should be totally wasted. If he was awake, with a killer hangover. Well, that would be bad.
"Yeah, alright quick though I need to get home my ah, my stepdad is strict on punctuality," I said quickly, grabbing my phone off of the floor. I pulled on my jacket with a struggle. I couldn't find the damn arm sleeve!
I sighed in frustration, my hands fumbling over the sleeves and fabric.
Alex walked over in two long strides and pulled on my jacket slipping my arm through the sleeve with ease. He gave me another one of his amused smiles and jerked his head towards the direction of the door.
"Let's go," He said still chuckling to himself and I followed after him reluctantly.
We walked past the kitchen and I caught sight of Tyler laughing, wrapping Sasha into a tight emrace, he kissed the top of her head. His eyes met mine of Sasha's head and he winked waving a goodbye.
Sasha turned around and saw me, she pushed away from Tyler and ran up to me giving me a quick hug.
"I'm so glad you came over! I'll see you at school?" She said sill blushing.
I nodded and chuckled softly, "Yeah, thanks for having me!" I replied hugging her back.
She nodded and waved her hand, "No worries," She said. Alex grabbed my arm shouting a goodbye through the house.
A series of goodbyes came back and then we walked out through the front door heading for Alex's car. His car wasn't what I expected. It was a large red truck, a little worn out but it looked friendly enough.
"I introduce to you, the Monster Mobile" He announced proudly gesturing to the truck in front of us. I laughed and shook my head.
"Real creative" I teased jumping into the front seat. He shrugged, "I thought it was pretty creative" He mumbled getting into the driver's seat.
