My left leg vibrated, waking me up almost instantly. I shot up and winced, my whole body was aching. I felt stiff all over. My muscles were sore and my head was still throbbing. I stroked my cheek carefully prodding at the sides of my jaw. I hissed in pain, and pulled my hands back, looking around.

I felt through my jeans for my phone, confused as my clothes were not mine. Memories of last night flooded in. Alex and I at the beach, laughing, meeting his wonderful yet strange family. I smiled. I then looked back at my hands, they were covered in dry blood.

I then remembered what had happened the remainder of the night. Rick. The belt. The pain. Cursing my mother.

I sighed, groaning as I lifted myself up off of the floor carefully, the pain had subsided as of last night.

I was then reminded of my vibrating phone and felt through Lei's jeans to pull it out.

"Hello?" I answered groggily. Wincing at how painful it was to talk, my jaw was still sore.  I made sure to be quiet as I didn't want to wake Rick up. I glanced at the wretched belt that lay on the floor, I shivered.

"Riley? Is that you. Girl, how much did you drink last night? Alex told me all about it. How are you feeling?" Sasha's voice flooded through the line, I held the phone further away from my ear as she was practically shouting through the phone.

"Sasha?" I whispered, still rubbing my jaw.

"How did you get my number?" I asked.

"Umm, that's not important, let me tell you what i-"

"Sasha" I warned still whispering, demanding her to tell me how she got it.

She sighed heavily through the line,

"I called up the school secretary and buttered her up, asking her for your number. The school really should keep a tighter security on that student contact detail program. She literally gave it right to me. I don't even think she cared" She spilled.

"Anyway, I called to ask what you were doing today?" She said

I looked around, Rick wasn't up yet.

I sighed, "Look I'm a little busy today," I said reluctantly. I missed Sasha, even if we had only just hung out yesterday. Her mere presence always seemed to lighten my mood, yesterday was the most memorable days of my life and I was determined to endure many more days just like them. However, there was one problem. Rick.

She let out a disappointed groan, "Oh come on Riley! You can't always be hauled up in your home forever! I'm having a sleepover tonight and I want you to come, it's going to be just us girls, Me, you, Katie and Rain. It'll be so much fun! We can eat junk food and talk about useless garbage like boys and stuff whilst be sipping on fancy wine in expensive glasses that I stole from my parent's cupboard!" She rambled.

I smiled at the idea of doing all those things. I had never been to a sleepover before. I lived with my messed up mother and Rick. That was pretty self-explanatory.

"Listen, that sounds great and all, b-"

"Exactly it does sound great doesn't here! Now I want you packed and ready to go in about twenty minutes and over at my place in about twenty-five. If your pretty little butt isn't sitting on my couch in that period of time, then I'm driving over there myself to drag you out of your shell you little unsociable hermit crab" She argued, demanding my attention.

My eyes widened as I listened to what she was saying. No she could not drive over here, she was bound to run into Rick and my body ran cold as I thought of what would happen then.
