Brooke and Jamie stroll down the sidewalk leading up to the club. As Jamie steps off the sidewalk, her heel breaks off and she falls. Brooke seems to catch her in mere luck and instinct.
"Whoa, thanks" Jamie says as she feels her weight carried.
Brooke let's out "Oh shit" as they drop to the ground.
Jamie and Brooke both hit the pavement, making a loud clashing sound.
Jamie stands up with the weight of her purse throwing off her balance. She carelessly adjusts her dress and wipes her slightly scuffed legs. Brooke follows, standing up as though she had started drinking. She fixes her red cocktail dress, takes Jamie's broken off heel, and hands it to her. Both of them continue to walk down the sidewalk towards the club as Jamie limps with the condition of her shoes with Brooke supporting her.
They enter the club with Jamie holding her heels, and Brooke in a whole new persona. The club is blazing with shimmering lights that alternated warm colours then cool colours. A smoke machine gassed the room with a foggy essence and a unusual musk. The dance floor, surrounded by millennials dancing and for those who can't dance, swaying. And the bar was seated with silver grey men picking up on younger women.
Brooke and Jamie continue to enter deep into the atmosphere and find Harper and Cam doing their anniversary shots.
The crowd cheered "Drink, drink, drink, drink, whooooo".
Jamie steps closer to see who was the recipient of the cheering, and sees Caleb continuing his round of shots. Jamie, confused of what she should do, turns away and starts to walk towards the bathroom.
Brooke notices Caleb and quickly runs for Jamie.
"Hey wait, hold on." Brooke says as she grabs Jamie's shoulder to stop her motion. She continues, "I saw Caleb back there, are you okay? We can go home if you wa-."
"No umm it's fine," Jamie cuts her off, "I'll be fine".
Jamie stops and turns, she walks towards Harper, congratulates her and asks, "the drinks are free right?".
"Umm yeah, it's on me tonight..." Harper replies with a confused look.
Jamie calls up the bartender to bring an ongoing round of shots. She takes the first round, hands Brooke a couple, and finishes five shots in a few seconds.
"Wow, okay. So we gettin' it on tonight? All right!" Brooke says with an impressed undertone, and drinks the two in her hand.
Brooke and Jamie completes the first five rounds without delay and start to head their way to the dance floor while obviously tipping over and using each other as support. Over the next few songs, Brooke and Jamie struggle to keep looking like impaled flamingos dancing.
After a few songs, Brooke started to feel sick, so Jamie suggested to sit down while she gets another round of shots.
Obviously drunk, and not entirely lucid, the two engage in a conversation that would be forgotten the day after.
"Do you actually like Caleb, or do you like the fact that he liked you?" Brooke asks intuitively.
Jamie thinks for a moment, then continues, "I don't know, it's just that guys don't like me very often. And when one does, I just get excited."
"Well I just think that you haven't been on enough dates yet. That's the problem." Brooke suggests while taking a shot.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that, you usually have a plan or you know the situation in and out. But with dating, you are lost, and when you are, you get awkward."
"Ahhhhhh, I get you. So what should I do? Go on practice dates?" Jamie says while chuckling at the last part.
"I mean yeah, I guess so.", Brooke replies.
Jamie cocks a brow, "oh yeah, with who?", as she takes a shot.
"Nothing, forget about it. I feel a lot better, I'm gonna go dance." Brooke stops her thoughts, takes two more shots, and gets up, walking towards the dance floor.
As the night progressed, Brooke found herself drinking more and more as she danced. And Jamie found herself in a bathroom, puking.
Morning came, the light shown through the window going through Jamie's blanket, blinding her eyes, forcing her to awaken. Her phone rings and buzzes, she picks up the phone and Brooke asks "Where am I?".
