"You can say hi"

Brooke and Jamie walk out beside each other, embracing. They made their way to the park, getting ice cream. The sun set as the two finished walking and talking. They sit on a bench, looking towards the lake. Brooke takes Jamie by the hand as they look at the water, and the serenity it brought them.

"I heard that a rerun of Goonies is happening next weekend." Jamie says "wanna watch it with me?"

"Wow..." Brooke says as her eyes light up, "make-out in a movie theatre?"

They laugh as they lean in to kiss each other.

"Oh shoot. I forgot. My mom is visiting next weekend." Brooke says.

"It's okay. Your stepdad isn't coming?" Asks Jamie.

"No, he'd rather eat shit that visit me." Brooke says coldly. "Yeah so you can just watch the rerun without me. Or go somewhere", Brooke continues.

"Nah it's fine, I'll just stay in the dorm, maybe say hi to your mom" Jamie says casually.

"No, seriously. Just go have dinner with Harper and Cam." Brooke says.

Jamie sits farther from Brooke, sensing something was off. She asks, "Do you not want me to say hi to your mom?"

Brooke looks into Jamie's eyes and looks away. "No, it's not that." Brooke says.

"Then what is it?" Jamie asks.

"It's nothing, just go out with Harper okay."

"No, tell me."

"I can't tell my mom yet!" Brooke shouts. "I can't tell my mom about... us yet."

Jamie looks at Brooke silently and says "I never said we had to tell your mom this instant. I just wanted to say hi to her. But if you are uncomfortable i can-"

"No it's okay, I'm sorry. I overreacted. Of course you can say hi." Brooke says apologetically.

Jamie and Brooke look at each other and pull towards one another in an embrace. They walk towards the dorm with each second, falling more in love with each other.
