Chapter 3 - Family Meeting

Axel POV

To be honest, ever since we joined the Blackbourne team I've loved family meetings. They're hilarious, even with such serious shit going on. Joining this team was easily the best decision we made. Kayli was a fucked up situation from the beginning, and not because we were sharing. To be honest that was the best part, I always knew she was protected and taken care of especially with the Academy jobs we were taking. No what was fucked up was she tried to tear us apart before accepting us and then tried to bring in that asshole Blake. Knowing he's not a good dude, she still expected us to cover for him and let him into our family. That was never going to fucking happen, so she bounced and it was the best day of my life. Our whole family felt the weight lifted. 

Now here we are a year late about to go on a huge mission and a new family that works. We just all fit easily. We are the largest in the academy but it comes in hand for missions like the one we are about to start on Monday. Everyone is here except Brandon he was running late from the shop. Everyone is chatting and laughing and it feels fucking good to be happy again. Brandon walks in a few minutes to 4 and he has a shit-eating grin on his face. What the hell is going on? Of all of my brothers, besides North, Brandon is easily the grumpiest. Not stoic or painted with an emotionless mask like Owen and I. He's just grumpy and generally has a scowl on his face. Something is up. I catch Owen's eye and he notices as well. He raises a perfectly arched eyebrow at me and we both know we are going to get to the bottom of that grin he has. 

"Hey Brandon, you look different. Everything good?" I ask him

"Oh Ax, everything is fan-fucking-tastic. When we get to family discussion after the mission details, I'll let you all know. But I want to go last." He smirks. Something is definitely up. He's caught everyone's intrigue in this room, including mine and Owens. Peaking the ever stoic Mr. Blackbourne's interest is a feat in itself, so now I'm rather curious. Owen goes to call the meeting. 

"Alright everyone let's settle down and first start with the perimeters of the Ashley Waters mission. We know that last year more than half the staff quit, we also know that some illegal activity has been going on. Mr. Morgan and Mr. Henshaw Jr. have found that funds have been swindled from the schools budget - which is presumably why the teachers quit. Under paid. We also have heard some whispering's of illegal drug trafficking through the school and from what we can gather it may not just be the students. Though they seem to play a big part in the daily activity. We have also noticed the school has an abnormal rate of injuries sustained to students. Especially within the first few weeks of school starting. So we will also be on the look out for bullying, fights, anything that would lead to injuries. Now the principal and vice principal believe we are going in to set a better example for the students and help control student activity, which is partly true. But the true mission is to be closely guarded and should only be talked about in the confines of the family home or the office we will have set up at school. Is that understood?" Nods all around.

"Now, Mr. Toma will be giving each of us our individual roles for the school. Mr. Toma, if you would." He gestures for me to take the floor.

"Alright first lets start with the students. Kota, Nathan, Gabriel, Victor, Silas, Luke and North will all being going in as students. Silas and North will be joining the football team." North grumbles but nods. "We aren't sure on any other student activities we can put the rest of you in, but we need an in with the football team, and lets be honest, North and Silas will be the largest students at the school." Everyone laughs while Owen tilts his lips up, I call that a success.

"Next, the rest of us will be going into some type of administration role at the school. First Dr. Green, you will be the on-call nurse as well as teach 2 Japanese classes. Corey you will be teaching Computer Science. Brandon you will be in administration, you may have the most access out of all of us, you will be constantly with the front staff other than the Homeroom class you will have in the morning. Marc, you will be a student counselor, so at registration you will be helping with schedules. I will be teaching AP - Biology for obvious reasons. Owen you will also be in administration but based on students schedules, you will also be teaching Violin lessons." Dr. Green scoffs.
