December Air

Warm.

Her soft, warm skin against mine
Our noses are bright and red, we can see our breath as we breathe into the cold
December air

The bright, colorful lights shine like shining stars
The air is so cold,
but with her I'm so warm

She wraps her arms around me, like a mother holding a child
I hold her tight, as if I let go I would loose her
As if I'll loose my warmth

Because if I let go, I will

The air pulls us apart, like a strong magnetic force
We try to grasp each other, but we are too weak, too small
I'm left spiraling in despair
All I can feel is the cold December air

A month, and a holiday that was once spent with smiles, and warmth
Is now spent with lonely miles, and cold

During this time of despair
All I feel is the cold December air
