It wasn't on accident

Jay POV

I knew Voight was blaming himself, but he shouldn't. I couldn't get upset over Erin, it would only make Voight feel more guilty. After all, it isn't like he was the one who pulled the... trigger. I'm still shaken up from when I first heard Voight call in the paramedics.

"Jay you zoning?" Antonio asks from the seat next to me.

"Yeah sorry." I said and rubbed my sleepy eyes awake. I just can't stop thinking about Erin, her smile, face, her laugh. It's crazy that it's only been a few hours and I miss her this much.

"She'll be okay." Antonio said patting my back. I smiled and nodded, but I wasn't so sure.  She'd been in surgery for about two hours now, and I am getting more anxious by the minute. All I wanted was to hug my beautiful wife. Now a smile reached my eyes.

"Erin Halstead?" The nurse called, and I quickly stood up. "Room 204, she is in some pain but we got the bullet out and she should make a full recovery, all though she is very lucky." The nurse said. She talked so slow! Or maybe my brain was just running 70 mph.

I quickly jog down the hallway and I distantly hear Antonio thanking the nurse. I guess it was rude but I just need to see Erin. The nurse said she was alright, but I'll believe it when I see it. I finally found room 204.

"Hey beautiful." I said and saw Erin looking at me. A grin stretched out on her face. She looked fine for the most part, but I know that under these blankets, it's a different story.

"Hey handsome. Did you catch the guy? Is Voight mad?" She asked quickly. I couldn't help but chuckle at her.

"Yes we caught Pulpo's son and no Voight isn't mad. If anything he feels guilty." I said and I heard the door open.

"Knock knock love birds." Antonio said from the doorway.

"Is he feeling guilty?" Erin asked completely ignoring Antonio's comment.

"Jay is feeling guilty for eating your leftovers." Voight says coming into the room.

"Can't have one minute of privacy." I say sullenly.

"Jay I will take away my blessing." Voight threatens pointing a finger at me. I roll my eyes.

"I thought I already lived through this moment Alvin?" Rusek asks walking in.

"I agree, this entire scene looks to familiar." Alvin says nodding to Rusek.

"Yeah except at least now they are married." Atwater says walking in. Erin and I both groan.

This team is a mess and childish, but it is still a team.

"Voight." Erin says after they all calmed down their laughter.

"What is it?" He asked completely serious now.

"He was targeting me." She said. I could physically feel the color drain out of my face. This wasn't just coincidence. This kid harmed her on purpose.

I stood up and walked to the door. This kid was going to have to answer to my fists. My very pissed off fists.

"Kid." Voight's voice called me, interrupting my thoughts.

"What." I said tightly.

"Wait for me." Voight said and I finally saw his face. He was just as pissed as I was.
