We sat there in the jail cell, waiting on Nixon to show up. I've never been to jail except to bail Nixon and Nolan out with Nash and Kat. I didn't know what to expect when he showed up. I just knew this wouldn't be good.
The door opened and in walked Nixon and Jace. Even better.
"Well, what do we have here? If it isn't the jailbirds themselves," Nixon smirked.
We got up and walked over to the bars.
"Cute, now get us out of here," Nash said with a glare.
"Oh, I need to savor this moment since if I recall last, I got a lecture because of helping Nolan out," he retorted.
"Nixon, Richard! I don't like your tone. Now you get us out of here," Grammy said to him.
"Why? Ever since you got here, you caused everyone trouble," he snapped at her.
"Nixon, I'm warning you. You either get us out of here, or you'll wish you had."
"Man, do what she says," Jace whispered to him.
"I'm not bat shit crazy. The minute I get those three out, all hell will break loose."
Jace thought about it. "Can't argue with that logic."
While they were debating whether to let us out, the brothers and cousins were following through with Nixon's plan.
"You're what?" Cayson yelled. "Not that I have any problem with whoever you love."
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Nate yelled at Noah.
"Since when?" Jonas yelled at Jaime.
That's when the lectures started.
Okay, you're probably confused. Let me backtrack here. Cody told Cayson he was gay; he's not. Noah said Nate that Marcy was pregnant; she's not. And Jaime well, he noted Jonas he dropped out of school; he didn't. The college hadn't even started. Three major life decisions and they all fell for it.
Now that we got that cleared up let's get back to the situation at hand, us aka Nash, Grammy, and I still in jail while they aka Nixon and Jace were deciding to let us out. Okay, you want to play dirty, then so will Nash. He forgot they were brothers, and Nash knew all the tricks.
"Listen, little brother, you don't let us out, and I will tell ma and dad, you and Kat are planning on living together come fall."
"You wouldn't?"
"I would," he said.
"Fine," Nixon grumbled.
"Ah, nothing says loving your family like blackmail," Jace smirked. Nixon shot him a glare. I had to admit that it was fun.
Nixon went to the officer and explained a few things, then the officer nodded and opened the door to the cell. We walked out, and Nash looked at Nixon and asked, "What did you tell him?"
"Just that Grammy didn't take her meds, and when she doesn't, she strips," he said. Nash laughed. "No one wants to see a seventy-year-old woman naked." He roared with laughter.
We made it back before everyone else, even picking up Grammy's car, which Jace drove back. Yeah, one little thing we forgot to mention, I still don't know how to drive and don't have my license. We wanted to keep that on the down-low.
We all took our spots when everyone came in, and Nate looked at Nixon. "Where did you run off to?"
"Jace here had the runs," he said, causing Jace to put his face in his hand while Nash and I were trying to stifle a laugh.
