We sat there as yelling was going on upstairs, then we saw Jace drag the twins downstairs. Yep, they miffed him. That alerted Nate and Grammy.
"What is going on here?" Nate exclaimed.
"Ask Frick and Frack!" Jace declared.
He turned to Nathan and Noah. "Mind telling me why your cousin is ready to rip your head off?"
They shifted in their spot.
"Oh, why don't you allow me?" Nixon said, shooting me a dirty look. "Since everyone was gracious to throw us under the bus, now it's my turn," he snapped. "Our precious grandmother got into a bar brawl along with my idiot brother and his equally idiotic girlfriend. Then they all got their asses sent to the clink. But hey, if I'm going down, then so are all of you." He pointed to each of us.
Does anyone catch the plate to that bus that mowed us down? Yeah, Nixon was the driver.
Nate looked at his mother.
"Technically, I didn't start it this time." She said casually.
"Then who started it, Mother?" Nate asked in an angry tone.
"Oh, I so need Cayson to see this," Jonas whispered to Pat as he texts his brother.
"Well, you see some guy accosted Margaret and Nashville here was just defending her honor."
We sat there and watched Nate. If anyone was getting ready to blow. It was him, and the blow did he ever. Cayson got there just in time to see the fireworks happen and it wasn't even July 4, yet.
"Are you out of your ever-loving minds? What were you thinking? Never mind, because obviously, you weren't!" From there, I really can't repeat the words that slipped from his lips. A lot of them started with an F and an H and an A. Some words I didn't think were real words. Then some things I don't think is humanly possible.
"This is good. Where's the popcorn?" Cayson asked, and Pat handed him the popcorn.
"When did you have time to make popcorn?" Jonas asked her.
"When you have a family like ours, you make the time," she said, eating popcorn while she and Cayson passed it back and forth to each other.
"Nathaniel Mark Gray! That is enough from you!" Nate stopped immediately from his ranting and raving. I have never seen someone switch gears that quickly. "Now listen here. You and your brothers have done far worse than I have ever done in my life. Yes, we got into a bar brawl and yes we went to the slammer, but we're fine and home. As the rest of you. You're so busy throwing each other under the bus that you forgot how to stick together. Have I not taught you anything at all?"
We all looked at each other. I didn't get taught anything since, well I didn't know Grammy Gray growing up.
"Now, we are on vacation, and yes we will do dumb and stupid things but guess what, we all do dumb and stupid things in our lives. It's about experiencing life and learning lessons. Now, since you all want to bicker like children, then maybe I should treat you like such."
"No," we all said in unison.
"Very well then, get some rest tonight because tomorrow we will have fun Grammy Gray's way. That includes you, you fuddy-duddy," she said to Nate. With that, she went upstairs to bed.
"Great," Nate sighed.
I was so confused.
"What's wrong with having Grammy Gray's kind of fun?" I questioned Nash.
"Let's just say if we don't stay in jail, we will when she gets done."
Oh, boy, this could not be good.
