I leave dinner early to get to Snape's Classroom. At exactly 5:59 I know on his door. He doesn't answer. I look at my watch waiting. At 6:00 the door opens and I walk in. I stop in front of his desk waiting for him to look up. He doesn't.

"Sir what is it that you will be having me do?" I ask him.

"Just sit down." He says not even looking up from what he is writing.

I sit there for a good ten minutes staring at the floor. He finally gets up and walks over to me. He pulls a chair in front of the desk I sit at. "Did you break those bottles on purpose?" He asks me looking and sounding tired.

"No! Why would I do that?" I tell him honestly.

"Well from where I was sitting it looked like you did. It looks like you just dropped. At least that's what Draco said. He told me after class that you dropped them right at his desk. So please tell me the truth. Did you or did you not drop them on purpose?"

"He's lying. He stuck his foot out and tried to trip me. I almost fell and dropped the ingredients. I really didn't mean to drop them and I am truly sorry." I look at the professor solemnly.

"I believe you." He looks at me and I'm confused at why he is being nice to me. He's never nice. He's not supposed to be nice. "Now I know you hate me bu-" He starts.

"Says who?" I snap.

"Everyone hates me. It's just normal." He looks at me and I see a real sadness in his obsidian eyes.

"Well, I don't hate you. I just hate the fact that I am married to you." I tell him truthfully.

"Why." He asks and I am taken aback by the question.

"Well your way older than me an-"

"I'm only fourteen years older than you." He snaps back, offended.

"Really!" I say surprised.

"How old did you think I was?"

"I don't know fifty or something."

"Okay for one this marriage law is for forty-year-olds and down. And I don't look that old! Do I?"

"Maybe," I mumble slumping down in my chair.

"Now back to what I was originally talking about. I know you might not like this situation we are in. But its permanent. Okay? There's no getting out of it. So I think we should just be at peace okay. No fighting? You agree?"

"Whats in it for me?"

He sighs "You know Granger? I have always felt you are a little bit of every house. Gryffindor, yes. Because your brave and always have a comeback. Ravenclaw, definitely. You are incredibly intelligent, witty, know what to do in tough situations and you value intelligence dearly. Hufflepuff because you put others before your self. You are nowhere near selfish. You have a kind and accepting heart. You'd make one hell of a badass badger. Then there's Slytherin. You're ambitious, yes. You do whatever it takes to reach your goals. You're not afraid to talk back to me. That has always been a trait with Slytherins. Real Slytherins. Most of my house is afraid to talk back to me. You challenge me, Miss Granger. And I respect you for that. Fifty points to Gryffindor." He ends his somewhat long speech.

"Thank you. Now you never answered my question."

"Well, you'll probably get some privileges. Now I have a question. Have you told your friends?"

"Uh, no I have not," I say hating the idea of telling them. They'd hate me.

"Well, I think you should. Ano-"

"WHY!" I interrupt him. "Why would I purposely make my friends hate me?"

"Well, another trait of Slytherin is picking true friends. And trust me if they were really your friends they'd get over it. I told my friends and they're okay. And they're snotty purebloods." He then leans in  and whispers "Please don't ever tell them that I said that."

I laugh. "I won't. So who are your friends?" I already had an idea of who they were. I'm guessing the snotty purebloods are the Malfoys. I've seen them only once before. My second year, Flourish and Blotts, Diagon Alley.

"Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy."

"That's what I thought. Are you good friends."

"Yes. Well sort of. Lucius and I have been best friends for many, many, years. Were like brothers. I do love him like a brother. Can I tell you something?" He asks.

"Yes, of course," I say curiously.

"You promise not to tell anyone."

"Promise."

He whispers to me. "He kissed me once. Last year."

"Really!" I say. I think they'd be cute.

"Yeah." He says leaning back.

"Did you like it?" I ask him wiggling my eyebrows.

He looks at me then looks off to the side color rushing to his cheeks.

"You did! Oh my god! Really!"

He just laughs. "Yeah."

I decided to change the subject assuming that he doesn't want to talk about it. Wondering why he told me in the first place. "Are you going on the next Hogsmeade trip?"

"Yeah."

"Okay."

"I think you can go back to your rooms now." He looks at me a moment. "Twenty points to Gryfinnerdor."

"May I ask why sir?" I ask confused as to why he is awarding me points. I didn't do anything.

"I'm giving you points and you are asking me why. You're getting them because you let me talk to you. Now get out of my office at once." he says but I can tell he doesn't mean it. Is he trying to be playful?

"Sir, it's after hours. I'll need a note, please."

"Arent you a perfect."

"Yeah, but since I'm only in my fourth year I cant be out after hours."

"That's stupid. I've been writing all day and my hand hurts. I'll just walk you."

On the way up to my room, we run into Filch. He gives us a weird look. He was at the wedding. As were all the Hogwarts professors. He was probably thinking we were (says in Snape's voice) up to something. After saying goodnight to me at my door he goes over to a nearby floo and goes back to his rooms. I get into bed and fall into a much-needed sleep.
