My alarm clock goes off as it feels earlier then usual...right the potions. I quickly grab my phone texting the girls reminding them.

I jump out of bed changing and getting ready I go to the lab where Lucas is and meet the girls in there.

"So girls I-" Lucas stood up with the potions in his hands.

"Lucas we have to go to school!!" Piper says doing a hand motion, rushing him.

"ok well stop by after school" he says handing us the potions and we run out. He has already made them into drinks so we drank them and threw them out but kept the infections covered.

Me and Piper walked into first period sitting in our seats. Well I sat in the one I was still paired up with with Jack.

"tell me what you were gonna say yesterday" I say placing my hand on his paper blocking it.

"it's not your business" he says trying to grab it.

"Then why did you begin to tell me!" I say putting my acrylic nails onto the paper so it would stop it from moving.

"ugh i don't know!" he gives up leaning back in his chair.

"tell me. who do i have to tell?" I say tilting my head some.

"Melody, Piper, Jonah, Daniel, Zach-"

"Alright...I get it" I sigh.

"can you just tell me" I say letting go of the paper.

"....no" he says going on his phone under his desk.

"fine then can you tell me one thing?" I ask.

"depends" he says looking up at me putting his phone back away.

"are Melody and Jonah dating?" I ask crossing my arms on my desk leaning forward over it.

"I don't know Jonah won't talk to me" Hs says shrugging.

"ugh you're no help" I scoff.

"so can we do this project so we don't fail?" he asks pointing down at the paper.

"I guess" I roll my eyes.

Me and Jonah sat together in first period. We weren't dating, but we weren't not, you know? We held hands kinda hiding it and continued to write notes. Nothing happened between us that one night but he gave me a hickey that's all. I swear. Suddenly I jerked my hand away from him remembering about my scale thing. Was it contagious? He wasn't a merman though. Maybe something could happen. If something happened he would never hang out with me again.

"what's wrong?" he asks looking over at me.

"my hand started burning out of nowhere" I lie.

"uh...you good?" he asks confused.

"Yeah..." I say placing my hand in my lap and continued writing notes.

Damn it just embarrassed myself, there I go overthinking.

We were at lunch and all got our plates. I wasn't eating I just had my tray in front of me on my phone. Jack was sitting next to me talking to Daniel on the other side of him as Corbyn as on his phone along with me on the other side of me.

"oh hey" I hear jack say causing me to peek over. I see Ella smiling.

"hey guys" she waves with a smile as we smile a fake smile back besides the boys.

"hey actually I need to talk to you after school" he whispers to her, well not really whispers considering it's hella loud in the cafeteria and I could hear him.

"oh okay..." she says a little worried and walks away.

So you know how people in school think sex is funny? aka moaning etc? Well that's my school for y'all. There's a table of annoying ass jocks that sit right next to us and always do that to make girls awkward. I acted as if i couldn't hear it but Melody could.

"Jack and Hazel" she laughs. shit.

"shut the fuck up" I mouth throwing grabbing a tater tot at her from my plate having it land perfectly in her shirt. The boys weren't listening because they all had their noses buried deep in their phones, but Jack was the only one listening considering he was conscious of his surroundings. Of course.

Soon the bell rings for our 5th period and immediately Jack grabs my arm pulling out of the lunch room as I barley had time to grab my bag leaving my tray on the table.

He pulls me around the cafeteria to where no one goes, we had at least 6 minutes before tardy bell so he took advantage.

"you told Melody" he says still holding my arm.

"Ja-"

"you weren't suppose to tell anyone"

"Ja-"

"She's a snitch!"

"Jack!"

"what! she's gonna slip up in front of Ella!"

"We don't talk to Ella nor hang around her!"

"but you hang out with the guys and i'm with them and Ella is with me!"

"barley! You guys aren't even together anymore" I say pushing his hand off my arm.

"No-"

"Jack...." We hear a faint voice and turn our heads to see Ella looking at us about to cry.

"Ella it's not what it looks like" he says doing to her as I stand behind him and she shoots me a dirty look.

"Ella I swear it's not" I say stepping up next to him.

"but how do i know that?" she asks. she's doesn't even seem necessarily mad.

"Because" Jack says stepping next to Ella looking at me.

"I was just telling her to stop bothering me" he says walking away with her.

They both walk away leaving me in shock alone as no one is waking around anymore. Then the bell rings. Well I'm tardy.

After I got out of school I went straight to the dock jumping in without hesitation maybe I could find something just something to explain everyone.
