I walk into the courtyard and sit with Melody and Piper. I was in a happy mood and I felt like nothing could ruin that today. Boy was I wrong.

"hey guys!" I smile sitting next to them

"hey" melody laughs

"someone's in a good mood" Piper says looking at me.

"what's the occasion?" Melody asks.

"don't know just feel happy" I laugh.

"hey guys" Jack says walking up to us along with a girl aside him.

"hey" we say.

"who that?" Piper asks looking at the girl.

"oh uh. This is my girlfriend. Her name is Ella" he smiles.

"oh. Nice to meet you" Melody fake smiles holding her hand out for the girl and they shake hands.

"did you two just meet or? Cause i don't think i've seen you around" Piper says confused.

"no no i'm new" she smiles.

"and you guys got together that quick?" I reply fast.

"no." her expression changes towards me.

"she was with me at my old school and transferred here" he says wrapping an arm around her waist. The bell rings interrupting all the chatter in the.

I smile at them then walk to my first class. I didn't know how to act. But my heart was shattered. I should've saw it coming anyway.

It was the end of the day and I ran home crying I didn't want to talk to anybody. My mom wasn't home and my sister was still at after school and I ran up to my room crying. I actually liked someone, I haven't felt that way before. So much for me, I knew my heart would've got shattered. I sat in my bed staring at the wall hugging a pillow crying. There was nothing to do. Just cry.

"HAZEL!" I hear yelling from downstairs. It continues until I walk down stairs opening the door to see Melody and Piper.

"babes!" Piper says sadly walking in with Melody.

We sit on the couch as they both hug me.

"this is why I didn't want you guys getting into boys"
Piper says rubbing my back.

"i'm so sorry Hazel" Melody sighs

"it's fine guys. It's my fault anyway" I say wiping my tears standing up from the couch.

"No. Hazel you can tell us anything. You know that right?" Melody says standing up next to me.

"I know Melody. I just don't wanna talk right now" I sigh.

"ok i understand"

"i'm gonna go on a swim. Alone." I say walking out the door. With out one single thing. Not my
phone. Not extra clothes. Not anything.

"maybe we shouldn't just sit in her house" I laugh awkwardly grabbing my bag.

"right" Melody says grabbing her bag.

"you wanna go see what Lucas is doing?" I ask opening her front door.

"yeah why not" she says following behind.

Lucas is our friend. I guess you could say we lied when we said no one knows our secret. He's the only one. He's somehow associated with our kind. Don't ask me how. Butttt he's kinda a nerd. But in a good way! He's knows a lot about potions for us and a lot of other things, but you will learn more about him.

"he could probably help us with our necklaces" she says as we start walking down the side walk to where he stays.

I run to the dock jumping in with no hesitation. The ocean is my safe place. Nothing to bother me. Nothing to interrupt my thoughts. Nothing to hold me back from being me.

I started swimming over near our cove, or as some may say the moon pool. As i was swimming I saw a piece of seaweed glowing. I slowly approached it to see. I've never see this before. Maybe my necklace?

I reached out to touch it when suddenly it grew it wrapped around my wrist all the way up to my upper arm. I panicked and didn't know what to do. I look down to see more seaweed growing from beneath me.
