Scene 8 "Romantic Disaster"

{Joe's Cafe}

At Joe's cafe, Nathan holds the door open for Megan as they enter. (Music plays overhead) Nathan and Megan get greeted by Joe, the owner of the cafe, they headed to table booth three and sit down, Nathan on one side and Megan on the other. Joe walks up to them asking them what they want in a friendly manner, they both order a french vanilla cappuccino. Joe turns and heads to the back, while they wait for their drinks, Joe behind the counter turns up the radio, the same reporter from the morgue speaks.

Reporter- "It's the time of year where the meteor shower is passing over the town. As we look up in the sky we can see them passing by one by one... (While speaking loud booms are heard) Oh my god. I'm sorry but if you heard that a few meteors just entered earth's atmosphere and are heading towards earth's surface. Where they are heading is unknown. Back to you."

As Joe brings their drinks to them; Nathan hands him a twenty telling him to keep the rest, Joe heads back behind the counter and begins washing it. Megan looks at Nathan asking him questions while grabbing onto her cup.

Nathan Jones- "So, what's your backstory? Like what made you who you are today?"

Megan Topps- "Well, my background is kinda sad. In the real way, not fantasy. I don't know if you can take it."

Nathan Jones- (leans forward resting his head on his hand) "Try me."

Megan Topps- "OK brave one, but you're not going to like it."

Megan walks down a cemented walkway with clean cut grass and flowers everywhere. She walks down the path to a very clean white house, when she entered men in tuxedos walked past her as she entered a room with a table and her parents. Fine china sat on shelves freshly polished and clean, photos hung from the walls. They were of her and her parents.

Megan Topps- (From the present) "My life was all spic and span until I met him."

Nathan Jones- (From the present) "Him? Him who?"

Megan began talking about a man with cuts and scars down his arms and chest. He was a tall man with a lot of muscle, he had an almost bald head. 

{Joe's Cafe}

Megan Topps- "I came home after school and I saw him standing over both of my parents covered in blood, he held the knife in his hand and at that moment I knew he was crazy. I waited until he went to the bathroom so I could call the police when they arrived Jason refused to go anywhere unless I was with him. He's crazy and now sits in a prison in Ireland. (Nathan looks at her with sorrow) So, yeah that's my story."

Nathan Jones- "I almost cried."

Megan Topps- "So that's enough about me, what's your major in high school? Well, what was your major?"

Nathan Jones- "Oh me? (chuckles for a second) I'm a nerd. I mastered in robotics and science. What about you?"

Megan looks out the window then back at Nathan, Nathan couldn't break eye contact with her. He noticed that her hair fell past her shoulders when she looked down at either the table or her cup. Megan takes a sip and then answers.

Megan Topps- "I mastered in Math, pre-cal, trigonometry, and Physics. I know half of what Mr. Einstein knows... maybe even more."

When she's done talking Nathan chuckles while drinking his coffee. Megan asked him "What's so funny?" With a smile on her face. After Nathan swallowed his drink he replied with a smile on his face.

Nathan Jones- "Oh it's nothing, just the fact that you're a bit of a nerd too."

Megan Topps- (Blushes) "Is that good?"
