Marilyn had been studying for an exam when she got the text message sent to her phone. It's been awhile since I've been to a party, Marilyn thought, tapping a pen against her text book. It wasn't like she was going to be able to focus for the rest of the night, Andy on her mind, missing her best friend. she was just trying to help him and that caused the destruction of their friendship. Okay, maybe she was in the wrong, and metalling in Andy's life was the wrong thing to do. But she couldn't help it, that's the kind of person she is; a good-doer. And that Shawn guy. Everytime she spoke to him she had the strangest feeling that Andy had a big part of his life, and Shawn to Andy's. And there was this one time she thought she saw Shawn stuff something through the vent in Andy's locker. She was starting to accept the fact their friendship was dead and there was no reviving it. But what if there was?

Marilyn thought long and hard, then just stopped completely. She stared at the jar of seashells on her dresser, remembering the last day they talked. Andy was acting very suspicious that day, something about what happened last summer. And just like that, something clicked. It was a long shot, a huge long shot, but it made sense. It was when Shawn came to the school, when everything fell apart.

It was simple: Andy's in love with Shawn, but can't say anything because he doesn't want to hurt Derek's feelings–classic love triangle. If one thing's for sure, Marilyn knows how to fix this...
