After all the introductions with the more friendly people, Amy drags me back to the camp. "I'm guessing you already know the Dixons?" she asks, gesturing to Daryl and Merle. I nod.
"Who's that?" I ask, looking up at a guy with binoculars standing on an RV.
"That's Dale," she answers, "he's our lookout." She smiles and waves up at him. He waves back with a small smile before going back to looking out into the distance with his binoculars. I nod again.
I'm about to walk over to Ellie when muscular arms wrap around my waist. "Hey there Little Red," a voice whispers seductively in my ear. I know that voice.
"FINNICK!" I scream and turn around, hugging him tightly. He hugs me back. "Oh my god! I thought you were dead!" Tears of joy drip down my face. Finnick Odair has been my best friend practically since birth. Katniss, Finnick, and I were often referred to as the Three Musketeers because we were virtually inseparable. When the outbreak happened, after losing Katniss, I automatically assumed he was dead. But I was wrong.
"I'm so happy you're okay," I mumble into his chest.
"You too, Red," he smiles and gently wipes the tears off my face. I smile and let go. He always called me Red or Little Red because of the red cloak-type thing I always wear, even prior to the apocalypse. It earned me some weird stares from everyone and Finnick said that it made me look like Red Riding Hood. Katniss and I called him Aquaman because he swam a lot, and was mildly obsessed with fishing. He also always used a trident when we we had "play fights" in the backyard. Katniss always used a bow, and we called her Robinhood, but that one didn't last long. Later in life, we called her "Girl On Fire" because she'd always die in lava on Minecraft. God, I miss those days.
"So I take it you guys already know each other?" Amy says, bringing me back to reality. I'd totally forgotten she was here. Oops. Finnick laughs, and I realize that it's because I'm still blushing. I roll my eyes but can't help laughing as well.

It gets dark, and we're all sitting in camp around a fire. I sit between Ellie and Finnick. Finnick's little sister, Jenna, sits next to Ellie. They were best friends prior to the apocalypse, and still appear to be. Dale starts talking about his watch, and I lay my head on Finnick's shoulder. He raises his eyebrows. "Friendly," I mutter.
He laughs quietly. "Suuure." I punch him softly in the arm. "Ow," he fake pouts. I stick my tongue out at him and try to focus on Dale's story. After he finishes, Amy stands up.
"Where are you going?" Amy's sister, Andrea, asks. "I have to pee," Amy whispers. "Jeez, you try to be discreet around here!" Everyone laughs and I think she does as well as she walks away. She walks right back out of the trailer. "Hey guys, we're out of pa-----" she's cut off as Jenna screams, "NO!"
I wonder what she's talking about and then I see the walker. Jenna's already up and running to Amy. She reaches her and pushes her out of the way just at the walker bites down. On her neck. She screams.
"JENNA!" Finnick screams and he's up and running to her. I realize she can't be saved...
"Shit!" Shane, the camp's leader, yells. I see a herd of walkers heading this way, probably about fifty. I quickly grab my hunting rifle and start shooting. The walkers drop like flies. I'm not the only one who had enough common sense to take out a weapon. I hear a scream and see that Jim's been bit as well. This night will not end well.
Dat cliffhanger. Most of you probably don't care though XD oh well I try :P
