This is an extremely short but necessary chapter.

~2 WEEKS LATER~
Beep. Beep. Beep.
My eyebrows knit together in confusion at the unfamiliar sounds.
Where am I?
I try to open my eyes, but quickly shut them because the lights are bright enough to give me a headache.
"Glad to see you're awake," a child's voice says from somewhere nearby. I swear I know that voice from somewhere..
"KIRA!" A different voice shouts, and I cringe at the loud volume. I then feel someone hugging me. "They said you probably wouldn't wake up, but I wouldn't believe that bullshit," the voice informs me. I slowly sit up and open my eyes. Squinting through the brightness, I look at the source of the second voice. They look about fourteen, with reddish-brown hair tied back in a ponytail.
"Uh.." Is all I say. I'm not particularly used to waking up in a hospital room with some random person hugging me.
"You.. You don't remember.." The person backs off with a sigh, looking down at the floor.
"S.." I attempt to say 'should I?', but I can't for some reason. I frown in frustration.
"Take it easy for now. You suffered some serious head trauma, could've caused some.. Problems." The first voice says. I turn my head to see a girl that can't be more than 12, with long blonde hair and crystal blue eyes. What's she doing working as a doctor? I could've sworn child labor was illegal.
"You're probably not going to be able to talk for a couple days, and you've definitely suffered some temporary amnesia. It'll wear off soon, though. I hope," she informs me.
Well, isn't that comforting?
I simply nod, the only form of communication I can currently figure out. This is all so confusing and I can't even ask anything. I wish I could just go back to sleep.
"Get some rest, you've got a lot of healing to do." The blonde girl says. I lay back down, cringing at the sudden, sharp pain in my stomach. I close my eyes and drift back into the comforting darkness of sleep.
