Chapter 9: Detention

We walked into the library again as that was where out detention was gonna be given. We saw Erica sitting alone as we joined her table. Jackson, Matt and Allison were sitting at the table next to us.

"We can't be in detention together. I have a restraining order against these tools." Jackson said as he sat down.

"All these tools?" Mr Harris asked.

"No, just us tools." Stiles pointed at us.

"Fine, you three, over there."

We left Erica's table as we had to sit further away.

"I'm gonna kill him." Scott said as he finally sat down.

"No, you're not. You're gonna find out who's controlling him and then you're gonna help save him." Stiles corrected as he looked a this friend.

"No, you were right, let's kill him."

"No." I interrupted.

"Hey, what if it's Matt? I mean, this whole thing comes back to the video, right?" Stiles said after a long silence.

"Danny said that Matt was the one who found the two hours of footage missing." Scott answered.

"Exactly! He's trying to throw suspicion off himself."

"So he makes Jackson kill Isaac's dad, one of the Argent's hunters, and the mechanic working on your jeep?"

"Yes!"

"Why?" I asked.

"Because... He's evil." Stiles said as he looked in Matt's direction.

"You just don't like him." I added.

"The guy... Bugs me. I don't know what it is. Just look at his face." Scott and I were now looking at him too. He didn't seem evil to us as he just offered Jackson a chip.

"What? Are the chips poisoned?" I laughed

"Any other theories?" Scott smiled.

"You okay?" Matt asked as we saw Jackson standing up.

"I have to go to the bathroom." Jackson said as he looked at the teacher.

"Are you all right? Hey, you don't look so good." He replied.

"I just need to get some water."

"No one leaves their seats." He followed Jackson as we were now left alone.

We immediately walked up to Erica and took a seat at her table again.

"Stiles says you know how Jackson's parents died." Scott said as she looked up.

"Maybe."

"Talk." I commanded.

"It was a car accident. My dad was the insurance investigator, and every time he sees Jackson drive by in his porsche, he makes some comment about the huge settlement he'll be getting when he's 18." Erica explained.

"So not only is Jackson rich now, but he's getting even richer at 18?" Stiles added.

"Yep."

"There's something so deeply wrong with that."

"You know what? I could try to find the insurance report on my dad's in-box. He keeps everything." Erica said as she opened her laptop. Stiles was looking too as she was sitting next to him.

"Scott McCall, please report to the principal's office." We heard on the P.A. Scott left after letting out an annoyed sigh.
