Kara POV
"Mon-El, what do you want to eat?" I turned to Mon-El who still had his arm in a sling.
"I will have something on the way home."
"Lena? What do you want?"
"Salad please."
"Lena, at least have a burger or something!"
"Fine, burger and fries please." She said. I walked up to the register and ordered three burgers and fries, I knew Mon-El would eat if I put food in front of him. I patiently waited for the food to be brought to the counter. After what seemed like too long of a wait, I asked how long the food had left. The lady told me they were just about to come out, great.
"Thank you," I said when I was finally handed the food. I went to the table Mon-El and Lena were sitting at, trying to balance the plates on my arms.
"Thank you!" Mon-El said with gleaming eyes when I gave him his food. I knew he was hungry, he just didn't want to accept my help. He was going to have to now, he agreed to come here and tell us what happened.
"You're welcome, now, what exactly happened? Don't leave out any details!"
"I was sitting at home, drinking coffee. Then I went to the window when I heard screaming. A guy was shooting up the store I live across from, so I went to try to help." He took a few chips and shoved them in his mouth.
"So, it was you trying to be a hero," Lena spoke up, smiling back when I grinned at her need to discredit everything Mon-El says and does.
"Yeah, trying. I kind of failed if you can't notice." He got up angrily and left, I took some of his chips and a bite of his burger.
"Kara!" Lena punched me in the arm. I pretended it hurt.
"What? It's not like he is going to eat it!" I kept picking chips off his plate and then continued with my own meal. Lena and I stayed at the restaurant until late. It was almost time to have dinner with Alex for her return by the time we got to Lena's apartment.
"You know, we still have," She pretended to look at the watch she didn't have, "About an hour."
"What are you implying Miss Luthor?"
"Whatever you want Miss Danvers," She started kissing me. It escalated and we were left laying on Lena's bed, late for the dinner party.
"Oh no!" I shouted, looking at the time.
"Just stay a little longer, please?" Lena pleaded as I got up and got changed literally at the speed of sound.
"You have to get ready too," I threw the clothes she had set out on the dresser at her. She got up, sighed, and got changed. After half an hour of getting ready, we finally got out of the door and headed for the address Alex had texted us.
"Lena, where are we going?"
"This is the way the GPS is telling me to go. I think you might have given it the wrong address."
"Don't blame it on me, it is the technology that is screwing up!"
"Don't blame Jean!" Lena insisted on calling her GPS Jean.
"I don't trust any technology that you have to rely on to do a certain task. It would have been better to find it out before we came, or ask Alex for directions."
"No, we are going the right way, look!" I followed Lena's finger to where she was pointing. There was a huge castle that was modernised but still medieval.
"This is what Alex was describing," I mumbled. We drove up the hill and parked out the front. No other cars were here except Alex's.
"I thought we were late."
"Maybe too late," I said, pushing the doors open. For any mortal, they would have been quite heavy! Alex was putting up decorations, making Maggie put them in the exact right spot.
"Kara! You are early!" Alex ran to me and gave me a hug. "You aren't supposed to be here till everyone else arrives!"
"I thought we were late," Lena grumbled, I looked at her with a glare. She probably thought we could have stayed in 'bed' for longer.
"The message said to get here at 7:45, didn't it?" Alex checked her phone. Sure enough, it said 7:45 pm. I looked at the decorations which said 'Happy Birthday' and things along those lines.
"Oh, sorry. What is this for anyway? Maggie said it was a 'congrats for being alive' party for you."
"That is what I told you to get you here. Kara, it is Earth Birthday!" I gasped, taken aback by the fact that I hadn't kept track of the days lately to realise it was the anniversary of my crashing on earth, hence the term 'Earth Birthday'.
"Oh, wow! I can't believe I forgot!"
"What is Earth Birthday?" Lena asked. I explained the concept to her and she nodded. "Fair enough. How did you forget?"
"I don't know, probably all of the stress lately!" I started helping Alex with decorations, ignoring her protests and rage that I was helping set up my own surprise party. After mostly everything was set up, Alex and I sat on the stage blowing up balloons as Maggie and Lena were going through playlists on Spotify for the music.
Alex POV
I can't believe she forgot! How can you forget your own birthday? I guess it is a bit traumatic to have a celebration of the day you crashed on an unknown planet and was never going to see your family again.
"So, what happened with Mon-El?"
"Oh, he was trying to be a hero and got shot. End of story. I am just glad it was only in the arm, you know?" She had a slight emotion behind her glazed eyes. Ever since I came back, she had hidden her emotions from everyone except Lena.
"Kara, you need to open up. I have been back for almost a month and I have barely seen my sister. You have hidden behind these walls and you aren't letting me in." I had to bring it up or it would have been on my mind all night.
"I just need..." She didn't finish the sentence because Lena came over and told us they had the perfect playlist. Guests arrived soon after and I didn't get the chance to even talk to her until towards the end of the night. I just stood back and watched her have fun. It was nice to be back, I thought Kara would have leapt at the opportunity to have me back but she seems different from when I last saw her. The rebellious teen, or adult now, had grown into a strong woman and I wasn't there to be with her.
"Alex!" I was pulled out of my thoughts to see my sister being taken by a huge alien.
"Kara!" I ran to the guy who had an iron grip on my sister, I tried bullets and all of my weapons and strength on him but he wouldn't let Kara go. In the blink of an eye, he had kidnapped her, leaving Lena and me alone.
