Don't go

Alex POV

I walked back to the DEO from my car, making sure I didn't attract too much attention when I kissed Maggie.

"What was that for?"

"I just missed you..."

"How cute!" She put an arm around me and we made our way to J'onn.

"I have a mission..." Maggie and I cut him off with our cheering, "For the both of you."

"Even better!" Maggie shouted and I nodded my head in agreement. J'onn told us about the general details and we set off.

"Alex, four o'clock!" I followed Maggie's directions and took out the Alien. He was pretty small with horns but no super strength or anything. He was the easy one, the hard one was in the next room.

"Are you okay?" I untied her and lifted her up by her free arm, the other had a bag hanging from it that had the technology we needed to hack into this computer.

"Yeah, are you? There is a scratch on your arm."

"It is just a scratch, Maggie, don't get so protective..." we kissed quickly and got back to work. A few aliens started running towards us with guns but Maggie and I took them out quickly. We burst open the door to the computer room and together, we fought the alien. After he hit us a few times and we punched back, I took out my 'only for emergencies' handgun and shot the huge monster in the knee, immobilizing him so Maggie could still talk to him.

"Where are the files?" She interrogated while I hacked. It seemed a bit backwards that I was the one doing the hacking, but Maggie thought I might have taken it too far last time so the agreed with J'onn that it is best for me to have a break from... that. After a few minutes of intense computer use, I found a document that was interesting, to say the least.

"Maggie, I got something!" I yelled, showing her the page that had heaps of names on it.

"That there is the Alien Registry. Even your precious little Kara Danvers is on that one, it is a lot better than last years. We have already sent some of our best men with Kryptonite to take her out."

"Who do you work for?" I yelled, taking over the interrogation.

"Don't you want to make sure your little sister is okay, Alex Danvers? I know everything about you and your family. We are coming after all of you one by one, until even Eliza is dead."

"Don't mention her family again, you prick!" Maggie hit him hard in the nose, knocking him out and making me think he was dead until I saw him breathing, unfortunately.

"We need to warn Kara."

"Alex!" J'onn said over the comms. "We picked up a Kryptonite signature near Kara's apartment!"

"Is she okay?"

"I don't know but her vitals are strange. Like when she was affected by Red Kryptonite."

"I am glad we gave her a tracker too," I muttered, half to myself. "Just call and make sure she is okay, also..."

"What?"

"Get mum to come to the DEO and give her 24-hour protection." When he went silent for a second, I imagined him away from the comms and talking to some agents.

"I have a few friends from the FBI that will protect her back in Midvale."

"Thank you, what would I do without you?"

"You would be dead about ten times over..."

"That is true. Will you ever let me forget about that?"

"No, that is called love, right?" Maggie and I laughed.

"We love you too, J'onn." I tried to sound fine but I was really worried about my little sister. If she was affected by Red Kryptonite again, Lena really shouldn't be around her. If she wasn't affected by Red Kryptonite, she was either hurt or dead because of those guys Roulette sent over. What I didn't realise was that she could still be hurt with Red Kryptonite in her system. I also didn't take into account what she might do with the anger built up over the past couple of years.

Lena POV

"Okay, the bullet is out and you should heal soon..." I put the bullet in a small lead container to give to Alex. I sat next to Kara, she had an expression on her face. Like the attack didn't matter like she was unfazed by it all.

"Lena..."

"Don't, jus, don't! Do you have any value for your own life? You didn't look scared at all, you weren't even in pain."

"Pain is in the mind. And I do value my own life, I just need to save everyone else first."

"No, you don't!"

"What do you mean?"

"You can think of yourself first. You can put your own feelings and life before others."

"Don't you understand that this is something Superheroes need to do? This is my job, literally!" She stood and winced when she started walking. I noticed her leg was bleeding too.

"Kara, why didn't you say something?"

"It is a small break. It will heal soon."

"I am calling your sister to deal with this..." I stood up and walked to my bag, calling Alex.

"What's up?"

"Your sister seems to think it is okay for her to hide things from me. Most of these things are a bullet wound in her arm," Kara went to talk and I put my index finger to tell her to be quiet, "She also has a broken leg and god knows what other injuries."

"I am on my way, make sure she doesn't move too much..." I looked up and she was heading out the window, about to jump.

"Kara! Don't go!"

"I have to..." She flew away without even taking my protestation into consideration.

"Alex! You need to find her. I don't know what is going on but she is very different."

"Lena..."

"What? What is going on with her? Tell me she isn't breaking up with me or something!"

"Lena, she has been affected by a substance called Red Kryptonite. It brings out her deepest thoughts and hatreds and makes her use them for evil."

"So she is dangerous?" Alex sighed through the phone. I was confused but still knew sort of what was going on.

"Basically, the order that Cat put out about 'Shoot on Site', the FBI is going to actually take that into account."
