Kara POV ( the next morning)

I was writing the script for the performance and it was one of the hardest things I had ever done. The computer in front of me barely had a few lines of dialogue before the first "*insert joke here*" moment.

(Now introducing Supergirl)

"I have never done this before. I have been on stage, just not with an alien audience...

Why did the chicken cross the road? I don't know, ask a White Martian, they are related...

What did one bad comedian (aka me) say to the other? 'Insert punchline here'!"

"Wow, this undercover standup gig is going to be so bad." Lena kissed me on the cheek from behind and sat on the chair to my left.

"Lena, I can't think of anything to say..." I whined, perfectly aware of how much I sounded like a child.

"Just be yourself. People will laugh hard at your er..."

"Clumsiness? Annoyingness?"

"Humouress nature..." Lena chose her words carefully, knowing I could burn her face off if my death stare got even a bit more intense.

"Can you write it for me?"

"No, just do a few Supergirl puns and some jokes about being a superhero. They will love that."

"Fine..." I sat there for a second, trying to think of puns. "What puns even are there?"

"I don't know..."

"Hopefully I won't have to be on stage long enough to find out what real awkwardness is..."

"Yeah, Alex should get everything done by the time you finish your first joke, that way you won't be on stage for too long."

"I am literally standing on stage in front of a bunch of Aliens, trying to figure out which is the shapeshifter..."

"You will be able to figure out the murderer. You are Kara Danvers and Supergirl. You are actually the most powerful woman on this planet."

"Only because you outed Miss Grant, got her fired and then sent to prison."

"Well, I didn't mean for it to go that far. I just wanted them to know that she wasn't being honest when she nearly put a kill order out for Supergirl!"

"As much as she didn't deserve for it to go that far, I understand your position." I smiled at her and gave her a quick peck on the cheek. I knew she thought I had forgiven her for sending my boss to prison and putting me out of work but I didn't know if truly I had.

"Alex, are you done yet?" I said, just about to walk back on stage.

"Yeah, you can use your X-Ray vision to find the device now, the cloak is gone."

"Thank Rao, I am not going back on stage." I peaked my head around the corner slightly and looked around the audience, looking for the Shapeshifting device. I found it attached to a hellgramite. I walked back on stage and did my final line, then bowed and flew straight to the hellgramite.

"What are you doing?" he looked scared.

"That device in your pocket, it is illegal to have one on you. Who are you really?"

"I am just me!" he was genuine. He frantically looked in his pocket for the device, finding it quickly and throwing it towards me. I dodged it, careful that it didn't hit me. It was laced with Kryptonite and I didn't know whether it could hurt me.

"Kara, grab it, what are you doing?" I heard my sister yell through the comms, she was probably worried.

"I don't know about the Kryptonite, Alex..."

"Just pick it up!" I did and immediately felt the effects of it in my bloodstream. I fell to my knees and then onto my side. This thing wasn't just laced with Kryptonite, it was Kryptonite. "Kara, talk to me, what is going on?"

"Alex..." I coughed out, feeling my blood fill with that horrible substance that glowed green."It is Kryptonite..."

"I am on my way!" All the people had cleared out, I didn't know why but I didn't care. "Kara!" My sister was running towards me. I looked up at her, my vision was blurry but I knew it was her. She grabbed me and lifted me to a sitting position.

"Alex, you need to get the Kryptonite out of here."

"I'm not leaving you. Oh my god, your eyes!" I didn't know what she was talking about but I just nodded. "Kara, I am getting you out of here." She left the device and helped me to her car, gently placing me inside and driving us both to the DEO.

By the time we got to the DEO, the Kryptonite's effects had worn off but I still felt weak. Alex told me to wait in the car as she went inside the DEO and got J'onn. He ran out and picked me up, not caring about my protests. I was almost asleep when they covered me with sunlight lamps.

Alex POV

I still couldn't get the sight of Kara's eyes out of my head. They glowed a bright green and looked as if she was dying. What was on that device that made her so weak?

"Soil from Krypton..." J'onn said as if answering my thoughts. He probably was considering he was psychic. He pulled out the device which he had stored in a lead container so it wouldn't hurt Kara.

"That is why it affected her so much? It was pure Kryptonite."

"Yes, and no..."

"What?"

"It isn't completely pure Kryptonite, it has a taint of lead."

"Is that why she couldn't see it when she X-Rayed the room?"

"That makes sense, yeah." He suddenly put the device back in its lead container when Kara walked in. She sat down on a stool immediately, relaxing once she was sitting down. I walked to her and sat next to her, holding her hand. She remained completely silent.

"Kara, is everything okay?" J'onn walked up to us and put a hand on Kara's shoulder.

"No, I have a vulnerability. Heaps of aliens were at that bar, they all know about my weakness now...." She was talking slowly but still in her usual ranting way, she didn't stop until one of us interrupted.

"Kara, we know. But you won't be vulnerable to Kryptonite anymore once the serum from Earth 38 wears off." I told her, trying to remain calm as I understood what she meant. I could tell she was afraid and it killed me to watch her in this state

"I don't want to die..."

"We won't let you. You are staying with Lena until everything wears off and calms down. I will get the device to Kal-El so he can hide it wherever the rest of the Kryptonite is."

"Thank you. I am going to get home, I really need to see Lena"

Kara POV (an hour later)

I sat on the couch with frustration. I couldn't be bothered taking the bullet out of my arm, it didn't hurt anymore anyway. Lena ran in and looked horrified at the bodies on the ground.

"Roulette sent these bastards to try to kill me. They had Kryptonite." I looked at the green glowing bullet lodged in my bicep.

"Kara, you are bleeding!" She ran to me and examined the wound.

"I don't need to be told that..."
