"And he always told me he loved me, until he actually proved it wrong." You ramble about your ex-boyfriend to Steve. As you do so, he seems to become annoyed.
After a while, he couldn't take it anymore. "Daniela, I could give a damn about what your dumbass ex does." He snaps as he sits on the stool and leans against the wall.
You furrow your eyebrows. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"I'm saying that he's wrong for hurting you. Why do you think you could trust him again?" He crosses his arms. "You deserve better. You deserve someone who'll let you cry on their shoulder, fix your car, protect you from socs, or even give you their switchblade. You deserve someone who would work at the DX for you and earn enough money to buy you somethin' pretty."
You realize that the little things Steve does for you, is because he loves you more than a bestfriend should.
As he was speaking, you took in his features. His nice eyes. His beautiful, greasy, swirled hair. His voice-- everything about him was everything you ever wanted in a guy.
"Steve," You interrupted him. "I love you."
"Oh doll, I love you too."
