Danny POV

I rush into the waiting room and see Taylor talking on his cellphone.

"Yeah, called him already." He said before seeing me. "Gotta go, just be safe trying to get here." He finally said before hanging up the phone.

I was out breath from running and from struggling to breath with the fear of what is happening with Emily.

As each day passes I try to be hopeful but also the thought of death comes and goes with each passing moment. I don't want to think the worst but sometimes being an optimistic will only destroy you.

"Taylor what's going on?!" I say frantically to him.

"Danny, there was a nurse who rushed in asking for the doctor to be paged to Em's room. Then a few more nurses ran in that direction. I asked but I'm not the next of kin, so they said I had to wait." He told me while looking in the direction her room is located.

"Did you tell them I was out and I left you here to tell me everything that happens while I'm gone?" I say as I get angrier at myself for leaving and more scared for not knowing what's going on.

"Yes! I did!" He said to me.

"Damnit Taylor! Are you sure you couldn't have gotten the information?" I shouted at Taylor and I can't believe I left and let him talk me into leaving.

"I'm sure."

"Taylor, did you really try?!"

"For fucks sake, Danny! I did all I could do!" He yelled at me before storming off in anger and hurt.

I know he did, but I wish he could have done more. I wish I wouldn't have left him here in charge. If I'm going to be honest, I'm blaming myself.

"I shouldn't have left her. I should have stayed like I wanted to to being with!" I screamed to myself as the fear of losing her was greater than the possibility of her waking up.

Just then a doctor, I recognized, came to the nurses desk. It was time to get some answers.

I walk up to him trying not to lose my cool but yet not backing down even if that means suing the entire hospital!

"Excuse me doctor." I say and he turns around and looks at me.

"Mr. Rhiner?" He asked with one eyebrow raised.

"Yes. I was told by my friend." I said as I pointed at Taylor. "That there was some news about my wife?"

"Yes, yes there was. Your wife had some activity on her charts. Her blood pressure, heart rate, and even her fingers were kinda moving according to the nurse that was taking care of her. That's about all I can say for now Mr. Rhiner." The doctor said before finishing writing something and then leaving me.

"I had more questions. I had more damn questions to ask you and you just up and leave and practically ignore me!" I shout out with anger pouring from my body.

"Excuse me, sir." The nurse on duty said. I looked at her and her sweet simple kind smile was her greatest feature. The smile was like that of Emily that I loved so much. It would always melt away the anger I had when she would simply say my name and smile at me.

"Yeah?"

"He's like that to everyone. He's a very busy doctor and he is nice but not very helpful when you're not his main patient or when he's not on duty."

"Oh."

"Yes, now you should go back and sit down and wait for her actual doctor to come and speak to you. It should be soon, Mr. Rhiner."
