Wishing for Sunshine [the sequel]

Chapter 11

Danny POV

I open the door and all I could do was wish for my sunshine to choose and continue to love me after all this is said and done.

"Emily is my sunshine to my very gloom and doom life. I need her more than she will ever realize." I said to myself as I made my way to her bedside.

"Hey, Emily we need to talk. I have something to tell and explain to you, sunshine." I tell her as I put our relationship's future in her hands.

Just as I'm about to tell her everything she surprises me and tells me what I'm afraid will be the end of us. "Danny, I need to talk to you too. I've been thinking about something and it's time to come clean and admit something."

We both stared at each other waiting for the other to speak. "I'm wishing for sunshine and I hope it comes true, because I can't live in this gloomy world anymore." I think to myself before I decide to go ahead and tell her everything that just happened.

I grab her hand and hold it tight. I close my eyes just thinking of everything we've been through and what I just did or almost did with Gwen.

"Danny?" Emily says and I open my eyes to see her looking at me with a worried look.

"Emily, I have to tell you something." I said as my voice cracked and the fear of rejection filled my body.

"Danny, whatever it is you can tell me."

Oh Emily if you only knew what I'm about to confess.

"Before I tell you I just want to say that I love you so much and that no matter what I will always love you." I tell her as I try to gather the strength to continue on.

Just then I felt Emily repositioning herself in her bed. She puts her free hand on top of mine that's holding her hand. "Danny you're scaring me. Please just tell me what you're getting at." She begged me.

"Emily, I met up with an old friend while Mark was in here with you. We met in the cafeteria."

"Oh well that's nice. I hope that whatever the reason that this old friend is here is not-" she was rambling on and I had to stop her before she kept talking.

"No. I'm sorry this old friend is really an ex girlfriend. Like one that I was super serious with and yeah." I tell her and she just frowns at me. "Um yeah so I met up with her, and believe me it wasn't planned in fact it was a total shock that I even saw her." I say and I don't know where I'm going but Emily is not liking the trip at all.

"Daniel, what's her name." She demanded me to tell her.

"Gwen Swan." I say as I close my eyes waiting for her to slap me or something.

"And what happened." She said in a snappy tone.

I ran my free hand through my hair, over my face and rubbed the back of neck. I took a deep breath and quickly said. "I almost cheated on you with Gwen today while Mark was in here with you and by cheated on you I mean I almost kissed her. I'm so sorry." I say super fast hoping she wouldn't hear half of it and that's when I leaned back so her arm length wouldn't reach me and I could avoid a slap or punch or even her clawing me.

"What?! You almost did what?!" She screamed and I knew I was in deep shit.

"I almost cheated on you." I say again and now I'm debating on whether or not I should sit here and see what happens or just run out of the room.

"How? Why? Danny?" She was saying and I could tell by her tone and facial expression she was about to break down.

"Emily calm down." I tell her and she gave me that look and yeah that was not the right words to use.
