Wishing for Sunshine [the sequel]

Chapter 1

Danny POV

I open my eyes and I feel the sun hitting my face. The warmth from the sunlight is refreshing and welcomed. After these past weeks of working hard and then being home but not able to see my wife does have its toll on me.

I smile at the thought of me here in bed and her right next to me. I look over my shoulder to make sure I'm not dreaming.

I see her, I see my world. There she was sleeping so peaceful. I don't know how I got so lucky to find her and be able to call her mine.

I roll over and I stretch my arm and place it over her.  "Strange, my sunshine seems to be a little bigger. I'll just talk to her about it later when we are both up." I mumble to myself as I try to pull her closer to me.

The touch of her brings warmth to my lonely soul. I just want her closer to me. Let me be honest here, I never want to let her go. I couldn't get enough of her. She will always be my bed buddy till the day I die. She is the love of my life that I found by accident and kept on purpose.

I go to pull her closer to me, and as I'm pulling her I hear Emily shout. "Danny stop!"

The fear that something was wrong filled me. I quickly sat up not thinking of anything but if my sunshine is okay. I lean over to see her and to ease my worries.

"Sunshine, are you okay?" I asked her with my worried voice. I just can't let anything happen to this woman beside me. She is the reason why I'm happy and why I want to wake up each morning.

She turned her head and look up at me. "Yeah, I was still half asleep and dreaming. You just scared me that's all." Em said as she gave me her reassuring smile. My worried look didn't go away. She can't just smile and I'll be okay with it. "Seriously Danny it's fine. I'm sorry I didn't mean to worry you."

I want to ask her what was really wrong. I want to just know what made her shout like that. I want answers, but I also just want to lay down with her in my arms again.

"It's okay, just you are so precious to me. I haven't been able to hold you in my arms in a while, and that's all I really want to do now."

I watch as Em rolls completely over so that she's now facing me. "Danny, please don't go on a trip that long with out me ever again." Emily says as she looks into my eyes.

This right here is where I want to be. I want to be next to her, I want her in my arms. I want to be in her heart, her thoughts, and even her dreams. I want to be with her forever. She is my one and only sunshine.

I let out a small chuckle. "Never again Sunshine. Where I go you will go." I told her and we shared a simple kiss.

There we were spending the morning together in each other's arms. I ran my fingers through her hair while she just rested her head on my chest. This is life and the moments I'll never forget.

I was a lonely guy with nothing but cold cash to keep me going, but I've found a real reason to keep living and she's right here with me.

It's funny how I never planned on falling in love with Emily. It's funny how this was all a business plan turned love story. It's funny how I couldn't ever imagine myself in this position a year ago. I wanted nothing serious until Emily found her way into my life and into my heart.

As the time past I found myself alone in my thoughts as Emily fell back asleep. I watched show after show until I felt her move.

I looked down and I let out a deep breath and shook my head. "I'm such a damn fool. I'm such a jerk and yet she's right here still loving me." I say to myself.
