Bonus Chapter

~Halloween Bonus Chapter Part 1 ~

Danny POV

"As a kid I use to love Halloween but as I grew up the thrill of it went away. I started to see the scam in it, the haunted houses were no longer scary and honestly it's just too troublesome to buy a costume or even host a party." I say as Collin and Emily look at me with confused looks.

"But, but, bu-"

"But what?" I say to Collin as he clears his throat.

"This has to be a lie! You're the one that wants to watch horror movies and thriller movies all the time! You love pulling pranks and trying to scare us when you can! Your family throws a Halloween party every year!" He yells at me while waving his arms and hands.

"So?"

"Danny, really? We are suppose to believe this crazy story?" Emily says as she gives me her famous look with raised eyebrow and all.

"If it wasn't true why would I say it?"

"It's called lying." Collin said and I just glared at him.

"But Daniel, come on! This can't be true." Collin whined again.

"I said no. No to the party you want to go to. No to decorating the house. No to ridiculous weird matching couple costumes. Why can't we take it easy?" I say as both their expressions fall. I know I sound cruel but this is life after all.

"You're cruel and just watch, we are going to have so much fun you will be sad." Emily said trying to threaten me.

"Well, okay then." I say as I roll my eyes at her threat. Yeah like she can do anything to me especially all big and pregnant like she is. "Well I'm off to work and remember no Halloween nonsense and I really mean it guys." I say as I grab my stuff and head out the door.

As walk into my office part of me feels at home and the world is back in order. I can't believe I've spent months away from not only my family but also my work family as well. It's true what they say about how you never realize how good you have t till it's gone.

I hear someone outside my door. Just as I was about to get up and see what was going on, my door opens.

"Well hello there Danny boy!" Taylor cheerfully says to me.

I look at him and I see coffee in both hands as well as bags around his wrists.

"Care to tell me what you're planning?" I ask him as he hands me one of the cups of coffees.

"Well, I got some of the stuff you asked for and some cool random things I found in the store."

"Ah yes, good. I thought maybe you had forgotten." I tell him as I grab a notepad and pencil so the planning can begin.

"Did they buy your lie?" He asked me and I shrugged my shoulders. "Well I guess we will have to see, but you did set it up with Amelia and your mom to keep Emily and Collin busy, right?"

"Yeah, I did and she was happy to just have an excuse to hang out with Emily." I tell him.

The thing is I'm lucky that my sisters love who I married. Life would be awkward if they all didn't get along with one another.

After a few hours of planning the surprise for Halloween is complete!

"You did talk to you parents about the Halloween party?" Taylor asked me.

"Actually I haven't, I guess I need to do that soon." I say to him.

"Dan, you know your family does this charity party every year. You want to be a regular person and hand out candy. But here's the thing, you need to figure out how to do both and that includes talking with your parents and Emily. The charity party doesn't start after 8pm anyway so there's a big chance you guys can do both." He tells me.
