hey, my names annie. i'm your average teen! not. my life's miserable. last warning before you enter my crazy life. okay, you had your warning.

let's start over shall we? my name is annie leblanc, and i'm not your average teen. i basically have no family. i live with my older cousin, paige, who is my legal guardian and my younger sister, hayley.

i had the perfect life when i was 12 year's old. popular, amazing loving family, caring friends, and my best friend, hayden summerall.

that all changed one night when my dad lost his job. i didn't think of it too much until it became a real problem. we moved into a smaller house and my brother died from natural causes.

my mom started drinking and my dad left us. one night, my mom died in a car accident and my father is no where to be found. all i had left was hayden and hayley.

but that soon changed too. hayden left for california leaving me and hayley. Alone. i was broken. But i had to stay strong for my sister.

pmy older cousin paige is now our legal guardian. we live happily (kinda) in a small house in maryland. she's basically our mom.

"annie! hayley! i have something to tell you!" paige shouted from the kitchen. i hopped of my bed. i was in the middle of reading a book.

i walked to the kitchen where hayley and paige were sitting. i took my seat next to hayley. "so, i've been saving enough money, and," paige said holding the suspense.

"we're moving to california!" paige squealed. i looked over at hayley who was jumping up and down. this is the first time i've seen her so happy ever since, you know what.

i weakly smiled. "get packing! we're moving in two weeks." paige said almost squealing again. i walked back to my small bedroom which only had a bed and a dresser.

i picked up my phone to call my friend, katie.

katie- anns?
Annie- hey katie
katie- why so gloom?
annie- well, i'm moving to california.
katie- no! when!?
annie- in two weeks
katie- oh my gosh! i'll be over tomorrow and we can spend the whole day together okay?
Annie- sounds fun! bye katie!
Katie- bye annie!

i hung up and flopped on my bed, staring at the ceiling. i'm emotionless about the move. i don't know why. i'm not happy or sad. i'm just... eh.

i gather the urge to pull my self up and pack some of my stuff that i know i won't be needing for the next two weeks.

after packing, i walked to hayley's room to see if she needed any help. "hey hay. need help?" i ask leaning on her door frame. "nah i'm good." she smiled. i smiled back and walked over to her, planting a kiss on her head.

i walked out to paige's room. i saw her barging in her closet. "paige?" i say. she quickly turns her attention to me. "hey annie banannie! what do you need?" she said walking over to me.

"why are we moving?" i ask. "well, i thought its time for a new start. moving schools and changing your environment will be good for you. moving to la will lessen the pain." paige said resting her hands on my shoulders.

"wait, la? as in los angles california?!" i said with my jaw dropped. paige nodded and smiled. that's where hayden lives. oh boy. but, my chances of seeing him are pretty slim.

i fake smile and speed walk into my room. i sit down on the bed, looking at my hands. Impractical scenarios pop up into my head about hayden.

i walk to to my bathroom and splash myself with cold water, to get away from all the thoughts in my head. i look up into the mirror and see a figure behind me. caleb.

"c-caleb?" i whisper. "i love you annie." he grinned. i blink my eyes and he's gone. "i love you too bubba." i whisper. i smile knowing he loves me.
