"home is where the heart is."

Today's the day.

The day we leave Maryland and move on with our lives to California. Paige, Hayley and I are waiting for our boarding number. I'm fiddling with my fingers with sweat forming near my head.

Why am I so nervous you might ask? Honestly, I don't know. "Annie, are you okay?" Paige said softly, brushing loose stands of hair behind my ear.

I just nod my head. "It's okay to be scared. I understand." She said sympathetically. "Hayden." I plain out said. "Yes Annie, I remember Hayden." She said not getting the point.

"No Paige, Hayden. Hayden's the problem." I said looking my hands. I looked back up at Paige. She opened her mouth to say something, but before she could, "Now boarding flight 237." The speaker said.

We grabbed our stuff and walked to the door, leading us to the tunnel which takes us to the plane. As we enter the plane, the pilot gives me a smile. I smile back waking to our seats.

Paige puts our suite cases in the over head. Hayley's near the window, I'm in the middle and Paige near the isle.

I looked over at Hayley who was breathing heavily. "You okay Hay?" I asked, resting my hand on hers. She shot her eyes up at me and slowly, unsurely nodded.

"Scared of planes?" I asked. "Mhm." She said as if she was about to cry. I pulled her into a hug and stroked her hair. "It's okay. We can play games on my phone okay?" I said pulling away from the hug.

I opened up a game on my phone and gave it to Hayley. Her hands were shaking as she grabbed my phone. I stoked her hair as the plane took off.

I looked out the window. "Bye Maryland." I whispered to myself. I took out my laptop from my back pack and turned it on. I stuck my earbuds in it and fell asleep to the calming music.

"Annie, wake up! We're here!" A voice said shaking me. I fluttered my eyes open and looked out the window. We were almost on the runway.

I looked over at Hayley who was resting her head against the plane. I put my stuff away back into my backpack.

"Attention ladies and gentlemen, we have reached LA California. We hope you have an amazing time here! And for those of you that live here, welcome back!" The attendant said into the speaker.

I helped Paige get the stuff out of the overhead and we walked out of the plane. We were at LAX airport. It was pretty chilly considering it's fall in la.

As we walked through the whole airport to the front, Paige stopped. "Okay I called a cab to come pick us up." Paige said eyeing her phone.

We walked to baggage claim and grabbed out suite cases. We dragged them outside to where our driver was waiting. He helped us put the bags in the trunk.

We all squeezed together in the back leaving Hayley in the middle of us. The drive was about 45 minutes. I saw beaches, palm trees, fancy buildings and so much more.

"Okay ladies this is your stop!" The driver said pulling up near a apartment complex. Paige paid him and we grabbed our bags.

"Let's go girls!" Paige squealed. We walked to the complex and headed up to the 7th floor. "These look really fancy!" Hayley said out of excitement. (a/n: it's the apartment the leblanc's live irl.)

As we entered the apartment, it was beautiful. It was modern and had white furniture. It even had a staircase that lead to a loft area! "Wow." I mumbled.

There was a huge glass pain that over looked the pool. "Like?" Paige asked. "Love!" Hayley and I shouted.

Paige showed us our bedrooms and I immediately started setting it up. It was pretty basic. It went the apartment theme, basically modern white.

"Hey girlie." Paige said leaning on my doorframe. "Hey Paige." I smiled. "So, what do you think about going to school?" She asked. "I thought I was going to be homeschooled." I said.

"Nope. Not this year. You're going to an actual high school!" Paige said out of excitement. "Oh." I said disappointed, looking down at the floor.

"Come on Anns! Cheer up! It'll be fine. Trust me." She said walking towards me. I sigh. "I really hope you're right." I said. "When am I ever wrong?" She laughed which caused me to laugh too.

Maybe it won't be so bad.
