chapter nineteen

It's been a couple months since the incident. It took awhile for Hayden to adjust, but he's doing well...ish.

"Annie! Kenzie's here!" Paige yelled. "Coming Paige!" I yelled back. I slipped on my shoes and grabbed my backpack.

"Here!" I smiled. "Let's go! We're gonna be late!" Kenzie rushed me. We both ran down out of the complex to her car.

"Ready for another fun day?" Kenzie asked sarcastically. "Yep!" I replied sarcastically back. We both giggled as we sang some songs on the way there.

As Kenzie parked, we both hopped out of the car and rushed inside. We split off since our lockers are in different areas.

As I was grabbing my algebra book, I felt arms wrap around my waist. "Guess who" The voice said, resting their chin on my shoulder.

"Hayden?" I asked unsure. They turned me around and gave me a small peck on the lips. "Morning princess." Hayden smiled. I gave him a smile back.

Did I tell you Hayden and I are dating?

He asked me in the most romantic way possible. Too romantic to describe. "Morning Hay." I shut my locker and we walked through the halls to class.

People kept giving Hayden looks. I felt bad for him because... well, actually it was his fault for joining the shadows. But some messed up kids at school keep being mean.

I grabbed his hand and rushed him to class. Hayden parted to his friends and I sat in the back with Jayden. "Hey Anns!" Jayden smiled. "Hi Jay! How's it with Conner?"

I sat down beside her. "Pretty good. We're going on a date tonight!" She squealed. I squealed with her of course. "How's it with Hayden?" She asked.

When Jayden said that, I looked over at Hayden who was talking with Johnny, laughing and smiling. "Amazing." I smiled.

After class, Jayden and I rushed out to our next period. "Annie LeBlanc, please report to the principals office. Thank you." The speaker said. "What now." I mumbled.

I got up from my seat and walked to the principals office. I knocked on the door. "Come in!" Mr.Williams said.

I open the door and fake a smile. "Ah, Ms.LeBlanc. Please, take a seat." He smiled. I sat down and waited for him to say something.

He took off his glasses, cleaned them, and put them back on again. "I would like you tell me about Hayden Summerall." He said. "What about him?" I asked.

"Oh, nothing much. Just, where he's been for the past month." He said. Should I lie? "Um, he's been handling some family issues, er, sir." I stumbled. He eyed me.

"Okay, that'll be all Ms.LeBlanc. Please get a slip and proceed to class." He said. I nodded and raced out of his office.

I grabbed my slip from the office lady and rushed to class. You know when you enter class and everyone's eyes are on you, well that happened. I gave my slip to the teacher and say down.

"What did he need?" Jayden whispered. "I'll tell you later." I whispered back. She nodded her head.
