chapter sixteen

"you know the best feeling in the world? you being in my arms."

We've been driving for was seemed like hours. I'm still trying to process everything that's happened. Does that make Hayden a murder?

"We're going to have to stop at a motel for the night." Kenzie said pulling up in front of one. We all got out in silence and I noticed blood on Hayden's shirt.

"Hayden, your shirt." I said pointing to it. "Oh." He said looking down. "You can't go in there with a bloody shirt!" Jayden said point to the blood stain.

Hayden took off his shirt, revealing his perfect body. I blushed slightly. We all walked into the motel, ending up with two rooms.

Of course I had the room with Hayden. I took in my duffle bag and sat on the bed. Hayden came in right after. "Explain." I sighed.

"I'm sorry Anns." He said looking down. I got off the bed and embraced him into a comforting hug. "You worried me to death." I said into his chest.

"I'm so sorry Annie. I killed two people! I'm a monster." He said. I pulled out of the hug. "Hayden Summerall you are NOT a monster. You are the most loving, caring and warm-hearted person I know. Sure, you've been involved in gangs but that's not the real you."

I said rubbing his cheek with my thumb. He gave me a smile. "Is it true... what you said in the letter?" I asked. "Uh, Yeah." He blushed. I smiled.

"I love you too." I smiled. He looked up and me and grinned. "Y-You do? I asked him in disbelief.

"If I didn't, why would I be doing this right now?" He smirked. I had a puzzled face. "Doing wh-" before I could finish my sentence, Hayden took my hand and kissed my lips.

It's not our first kiss, but somehow this one felt right. I pulled away since we aren't even together. I gave him a warm smile.

"What if the cops find me Annie?" Hayden asked with a worry in his voice. "Chill Hay, you're not going to jail." I said resting my hand on his shoulder.

I give him a reassuring smile. "Well, let's catch some sleep. You have a lot todo tomorrow." I said getting under the covers. Hayden was sleeping on the pullout couch.

"Night Annie." "Night Hayden."
