chapter seven

Jayden and I were walking through the halls of school together, just minding our own business until, "Hey, are you Annie?" A kid with dark brown hair asked me.

I quickly glanced at Jayden, who had a worried look on her face, and then back to him. "Um-" before I could finish my sentence, "Marco let's go!" A familiar voice called out.

I saw an angry Hayden walking towards me. "Come on Marco." Hayden said. So the guys name is Marco. He angrily groaned and walked away with Hayden.

I looked back at Jayden who was still confused. "What just happened." She asked. "I don't know." I said staring back off into the direction Hayden and Marco went in.

The bell rang and I walked into class with Jayden.

-time skip to lunch-

"So you're telling me, you think Haydens a spy?" Kenzie questioned Jayden who was munching on a bag of potato chips.

"Well, duh! It only makes sense." Jayden protested. "Yeah, totally." I said in a sarcastic tone. "LeBlanc." I head someone say. I knew exactly who it was. The only person in the world who calls me LeBlanc.

I turn my head to see Hayden coming my way. "I need to talk to you. Privately." He said glancing at Kenzie and Jayden.

I nod and walk with him to the hallway. "You need to listen to me carefully. And trust me I'm doing this for you." Hayden said with a serious tone.

This is probably the most serious I've ever heard him. I nod my head, confused and frightened.

"Annie, you need to avoid all contact with me. I know this sounds crazy but if you don't they will hurt you and possibly kill you." Hayden trembles his voice.

Wait, what!? "Hayden what do you mean?" I ask him utterly confused. "Look, I can't give you anymore info. But until then, I'll let you know when it's safe to talk to me."

He kisses my head and walks away. My emotions: shocked, confused, sacred. I'm blushing a bit too since he kissed my head.

I walk back into the lunch room with Kenzie and Jayden's eyes on me. "So, what did he say?" Kenzie asked.

"Nothing important." I lied. They just shook their heads. I'm surprised they bought that. Well, Kenzie did. Jayden's eyeing me suspiciously but I just shrug it off.

For the rest of the day, I couldn't stop thinking about Hayden. What did he mean? Who will hurt me?
