Chapter 3

"You don't have to open the door for me every time", I scowled at Ming "I am not a girl" I told him.

"Well I just want to take care of you." He then smirked "but the whole hour you took to get ready for a movie tells me otherwise". He was smiling so wide now, that my heart skipped a beat.

"Shut up" I scowled at him but he just laughed out loud.

We were on a way to see a movie – it was better than staying in the room and I did want to divert my mind, which Ming seems to have no problem reading.

It was a superhero movie which he really enjoys; I was content there to sit with him holding my hands.

I didn't pay much attention to what was happening in the movie – I couldn't help but think about my mom. I was half tempted to call her or drive back to see her. I had only sent her a text saying am back in my dorm and then turned off my phone.

Ming however was fully involved in the movie; I couldn't help but smile looking at his reaction.

He suddenly kissed me on my lips "screen is on that side" he said with a smirk "stop distracting me" and then he turned to continue watching.

I was distracted now – maybe just maybe I deserve to be happy with this guy.

2 weeks went fast– I had spoken to my mom twice in-between and have been able to relax a bit knowing she was okay. She told me that grandpa is going to come and stay over in 3 months, and my dad has been demanding that I come home every weekend. I have decided not to dread about it, I will have to face it as it comes.

I was sitting on the beach, waiting for Ming to return back with chocolates... "What is it baby?" he came back with the box of Kitkat he always carries around.

"How the hell don't you get fat?" I asked shaking my head when he offered me one

"Well Kitkat agrees with me" he said with a goofy smile "I can eat it all day everyday" he now winked, I just elbowed him and said "shut up"

"Pha and Yo are back tomorrow morning, and Beam day after" I said "When is Forth coming back – do you know?" I asked him

"Must be on the same day as Beam" he said with a crooked smile on his face "but our classes don't start for another week".

"I am jealous of you" I said he was still smiling "who would have thought Forth and Beam?!!!" he continued, "I was very sure in the beginning that Pha is going to have tough competition for Yo".

I laughed now "Yeah – it was funny to see Pha all worked up every time someone mention Forth's name. He still doesn't trust Forth around you know – neither in case of Yo or Beam. There used to be a time when the word engineering would make him punch something"

Ming joined me with his sweet laughter "I still remember the – break my Kit's heart , I will break your bones talk from Pha, and to be honest that was the only time I was truly scared of him".

I turned to look at his face "When did this happen? And why haven't I heard about it until now?"

I could see Ming turn a bit red – "well, I sort of had to ask your friend's help and blessing before I could even get near you" he sighed "WHAT??" I was stunned "it was during the time when you weren't talking to me, Pha and Beam were almost like your bodyguards. I thought Pha would be easier to talk to with Yo backing me", he said with a sheepish smile.

"You sneaky bastard" was all I could say.

He just shrugged his shoulders "So, I went to ask Pha what was bothering you – he immediately grabbed me by my collar and asked what did I do to you, and he even detailed how painfully he will kill me if I make things worse for you" he now smiled at this memory "You really did well in friends department you know Kit" he asked me.

"Those two are the best of friends anyone can ask for – no matter how much of a protective morons they are, I am glad and grateful they were with you" his tone had taken on a hint of seriousness.

"That's true" I nodded "But still, he shouldn't have done that to you", I now feigned anger "You shouldn't have to ask him for his blessing, you idiot".

He laughed "Really???? – there are times Pha acts as your dad and as if you & Beam are his most precious daughters" and put his arms around me pulling me in closer.

I visibly winced a bit... as he had touched the sore spot where my father kicked me on the ribs "Oops, sorry .... Sorry "he said but never took his hands off as he gently pulled me in.

I sighed "shut up before you annoy me", I rested my head on his shoulders as it was just after twilight and beach was deserted.

"No, Kitty..." he said "it is really annoying when he turns on his mean mode when he wants us, well me and Forth to back off" he smiled "at times scary " I could hear him chuckle "only it doesn't work with me as I have a bigger trump card – Yo".

I laughed "so?"

"So, we seem to have reached a point where neither of us get in the others way" he added "but with Forth it is different"

I was feeling great for having such friends, "This is the first ever long break which I have spent normally, used hate not having school or classes to go to. Mostly because... I will have to stay home."

I paused for a minute and then added "I miss them, I don't think they realize how much of a strength they have been to me.... I would not have survived if not for them"

"Well, why do you miss them when you have me next to you" he sounded sad, I looked up "May be it is time for me to distract you" he said and slowly started to kiss me.

I kissed him back now days without any hesitation; I have become immune to being in his arms and being kissed by him. But when the kiss deepened and his hands became more exploring, I stared to panic and pulled back.

He instantly stopped "Don't apologize" he said before I can say anything and he held me in his arms.
