Chapter 22 ~ Best Year

Matteo is driving on his way to Alabang. He glanced on the new billboards and saw most of Sarah’s faces on it. He was very glad and proud of her. Those billboards just proved that she’s one of the biggest stars in the industry but when she’s with his family, they can’t sense any act of being in the stardom, she’s so simple and humble. That’s why all of them love her so much.

It was a nice Tuesday morning for both of them. It’s the last day of the year and both of them were busy doing their own work. Matteo is still working on his house; he’s doing a whole new interior design for the coming year while Sarah is helping her family preparing for Media Noche. Because of Ate Shine, who will be leaving the next day, Matteo will join them in celebrating while waiting for the year 2014. She personally requested him to be part of the family’s celebration.

As soon as he finished with his house, he drove his way to St. Charbel. He didn’t text Sarah because she already knew that any time; he will be coming to her house.

“Anak, ano daw oras pupunta dito si Matteo? Sabihin mo e wag magpapagabi, delikado sa paputok ng mga tao sa daan.” Mommy Divine told Sarah while mixing the ingredients for her specialty, fruit cake with mocha flavors.

“Di pa po  nagtetext e pero baka po tapos na sila sa bahay nya, pupunta na po yun dito. Hindi naman po yun sanay na walang kausap (smiles)”

“Sabihin mo Pot, ingat sya!” Ate Shine interrupted.

“Wow! Concerned kayo masyado kay Matt ha? Anong nakain nyo or maybe nagugutom lang kayo?” Tawa pa rin sya nang tawa kaya binatukan sya ni Ate Shine.

“Sira! Kargo de konsyensya ko yang boyfriend mo kasi ako yung nagrequest na dito na lang sya sa atin sumama. E gusto ko kasi na makita nya kung paano natin sasalubungin yung New Year (smiles) At isa pa, maybe three to five years from now, kunin ka na nya sa amin kaya gusto naming ipakita sa kanya kung paano ka namin inaalagaan. (smiles)”

“Ate naman! Ikaw muna yung mauuna no bago ako. Baka mag menopause ka na nyan bago ka ikasal? Pero kidding aside Ate, thank you ha? Mamimiss talaga kita.”

They noticed Matteo’s car on the gate. Sarah is about to go and greet him but she was shocked because her family, including Daddy D stopped their respective works and ran to see Matteo. She was left behind smiling while seeing her family happy greeting her boyfriend.

“Kuya Matteo, thank you nga pala sa Christmas gift mo sa akin ha! Sobra kong nagustuhan.” ~ Gab

“ Ay oo nga Matt, love na love ko rin yung regalo mo sa akin. Super  magagamit ko sya pag-alis ko. Ang kyut kyut nung maleta (smiles)” ~ Shine

“Ehem, ako kaya pumili noon (smiles ) . Grabe kayo, inunahan nyo pa ko kay Matteo ha.” Sarah walked and held Matt’s arm.

                           

“Sus! Para kang ewan Sars. Alam ko naman na kayong dalawa yung nagpartner sa pag-iisip ng gift para samin. E halos makakabili na nga kayo ng House and Lot pag pinagsama-sama nyo yung nagastos nyong dalawa para sa amin. May tinira pa ba kayo?”
