"Will you accompany us?"
"No. We need to get back. "
"Thank you my friend". Tim shook Eric's hand, walking him to the car."No problem man" Eric hugged him. "Don't screw that up- I don't believe she actually did that.."
"Yeah...me neither. And I don't believe I'm married he looked at the ring."
"Don't tell me you regret, man."
"No. Not at all. It's just...weird".
Alexx joined them." Oh baby...
I don't actually know what you did...but work hard for this, to make it up to her. I hope you know what you're doing. "
"Thanks, Alexx- for coming. And for quick letting this situation happen with the magistrate."
"I've got a friend of mine there, I told you. Bye. " She got into Eric's car and they left.
"Well" he turned to Courtney- "let's get home, wife". She smiled.
"It sounds strange "
He took her hand.
"Courtney... I'm so .."
"Stop! You said from now on, yeah? Then everything is left behind. You promised me- under the oath. In front of Alexx and Eric. I believe you. I don't know why but I do. "
"Thank you. So...wanna drop somewhere to eat something after that short kinda- ceremony?"
"No...I'm tired. I've been up all night...and I'm nervous I guess. Let's go home." Then she stopped. "Did I actually change my name?"
"Yes. If you wanna keep yours, or wanna have both of them, we need to report it at the magistrate within 7 days. Would you like that?"
"No. I like it. I mean...I want your name. It's just so...unreal..."
"Yeah. The same rule comprises Ava. She's Speedle now, unless you change it. "
"I won't. Whatever happens to us- she is yours. I would never change that."
"Thanks." He opened the door. "So, get in Mrs Speedle. "
"Thank you" she smiled. They were driving in silence. When they came back he prepared a warm bath for her. Accompanied her while she was laying there, relaxed. Sitting on the cold tiles he was thinking about what he has done. Not about Allie, but about promise he has just sworn. And how much, for the very first time, he wanted to keep it.
He brought her a warm towel and helped her go out of the bathtub. Then he gave her the night gown and followed her to the bedroom. She lay down on the bed, so very tired...
"Can I..just lay here? Next to you" he asked. He knew she would probably refuse him.
"Yeah". She whispered.
So he did. She fell asleep quickly and he just couldn't. He promised himself to stop thinking about the thing he's done, but couldn't get it out of his head. From now on.. It's a fresh start. He looked at the ring. Ne never wore any jewellery but the ring.... didn't bother him. It was quite nice- he once saw it at the shopping window next to the station. That's how Eric knew where to pick them up.Maybe she'd prefer more...gold or with gem stones, but these were simple and delicate. He can always buy her another one, while the wedding he'd promised her. He was trying to keep his eyes open, but it was so difficult.. fell asleep. When he woke up she was drinking tea. Completely dressed.
"Hi "
"Hi, Court. I'm sorry. I was tired too".
"I know. I need to talk".
"Ok." He made himself some coffee and sat down next to her. "What about?"
"You said you'll do whatever I like? Yeah?"
"Yeah. That's what I said. "
"So... You're moving here from now on. I emptied half of the wardrobe, made some place for your cosmetics, clothes, shoes...
No more drinking from now on. If you have problem with that-I will help you cope with it. No more secrets like that- yours or mine."
He nodded." All right then. You want me bring everything tonight? "
"Yeah. Right now. I'm gonna help you if you need. "
"No. I will manage. Give me 3 hours yeah?"
"Sure. Don't think I'm binding you to myself...I just wanna do it proper way. Like if we did it right with no hurry. "
"I'm sorry. I promised you a wedding. That's what I intend to do when Ava's here. You could have a better ring if you want then. I liked these, but maybe you'd like different ones. "
"No. I like it very much. I don't want other."
He kissed her and left. "H? It's me. Can we talk? yeah. Sure. Be there in 20 mins. "
At the station he asked H. for a private conversation. Then he said "H. I wanted you to know about something I've just done."
"Well... Doesn't sound well"
"On the contrary..." He took a deep breath. "I got married".
"What?" H looked at him suspiciously. "Got married?"
"Yeah. " He raised his hand with the wedding ring. "Oh god..."
"Is it so bad?"
"No certainly not. But I thought..."
"Yah I know. But there were some complications in our relationship... And we decided to do it fast. "
"Does Alexx know? "
"She and Delko were the witnesses of this crime. I wanted to tell you, that it would mean so much to me if you were there too,but there was no time. Alexx pushed it up in the magistrate and it was settled within an hour. However I promised Courtney a real wedding after Ava is born. I hope you'll take the invitation then"
"Sure. Dont worry, it's ok. I know that it had to be an emergency. But tell Calleigh. Did you tell your brother? "
"Not yet. I'm heading there to grab my things". When he was explaining everything to Harry and actually present Calleigh, he got a call from Horatio telling him to get back to the lab as they have a DB and no one around. He grabbed his kit and left. Field work took him 3 of his working hours. He was exhausted. He was heading home, where he met a bit mad Courtney.
"Why didn't you call? I thought you went to grab your stuff... I was worried. "
"Sorry...you know I work a lot. I'll be home soon, love. " he kissed her and started unpacking his boxes from the car
